  • Los Alamos earth like field magnet

LOS ALAMOS, New Mexico — Researchers at Los Alamos National Laboratory’s biggest magnet facility today met the grand challenge of producing magnetic fields in excess of 100 tesla while conducting six different experiments. The hundred-tesla level is roughly equivalent to 2 million times Earth’s magnetic field.

Can this replace the earths magnetic field?

No this can not replace the earths magnetosphere, and there 100 tesla field strength magnet is bizarrely powerful in a tiny little region of area. Where as the earths magnetosphere is being generated at the core of the planet and not only encompasses the entirety of the planet but also huge portions of the heavens above the planet. It like comparing a laser to the sun.
