  • Simple firecracker from oil lamp

Here is a very simple way of producing fire cracker has been described using two ordinary lamps. One of the lamp has oil with cotton twig dipped in it acting as wick for burning flame. Other lamp has water in it and the wick carries water to base of burning flame by capillary action and due to intense heat water either evaporates or splits up into hydrogen and oxygen, where hydrogen gas again combines with oxygen forming water vapour and inturn produces "poping" sound or "cracking" sound with blue sparks flying around the main flame. This has been applied for patent and pending approval
