  • Basic circut help

I am trying to build a lindemann rotary attraction motor. While i am able to buil the mechanical parts and follow the circut diagram for the lindemann X rotor .....
I am not experianced enough with electronics to figure out what ohm and watt resistors i should be using. Ive fryed 5 mosfets , blown the diode into 2 pieces and even thought id try a "pot" and cooked that too. I know the problem is that im feeding way too much voltage into the gate but i dont know how to come up with a calculation that will tell me the right resistors and the nither the diagram or the electric motor secrets dvd say exactly what to use ... So im blindly throwing any thing i can get my hands on into the circut and getting bad results

    My EM has 7 200ft 30gauge wires
Im using a radioshack "power mosfet"
I also have a bunch of 2n3055 transistors i could use
The switch is a home security magnetic reed switch
My battery selection is either 2 car batteries or 2 18v drill batteries

Can any one help me out with this.
Working...
