New to coils and for some reason I just cant wrap my head around a few things, in teslas patent for the transmission of electricity (645,576) it sounds like he charged an capacitor(condenser) with ac then released it mechanically at a certain frequency. So isn't it just powered with dc? In other circuits using the coil they have a transistor , once the cap builds up enough the transistor releases it and that generates the frequency?
