    Evil

Recent posts bring this thread back to the top of the heap. I want to comment on the first few posts related to Israel and Hamas. Both sides are accused of wrong doing and both have surely made mistakes. Without taking sides, the only way to have peace is to stop aggression from both or either side. By allowing the possibility of nonaggression, peace becomes possible. This nonaggression must be both bottom up and top down. If there is no commitment and evidence at both ends of the spectrum, there will be no peace. This is a battle for hearts and minds. Most if not all battles come to the same issue. Evil is an unwillingness to have an open attitude toward nonaggression. If a person does not control their own actions and take the responsibility for those actions this lack of control usually comes out eventually in aggression. From individual to family to neighborhood to community to town to county to state or nation this principle must be applied. As long as EVIL exists, this principle will be seen in action when each element of a society attempts to control evil in its own midst. When THAT does not happen, the wars will break out and continue, even at the national level. Good luck with that!
There is a reason why science has been successful and technology is widespread. Don't be afraid to do the math and apply the laws of physics.
