Maybe this is a turf war between Russian Mafia and the BCCI Mafia. Saudi is losing a lot of money with the falling the price of oil. Their credit rating was just lowered. They would have to be insanely stupid to think that they could attack Russia with impunity. If Israel is complicit, that would be equally stupid. Iran and Hezbollah are already in Syria. China is coming in now.

Putin is a chess player who plays his hand very intelligently. When EVERYBODY was crying for him to rescue Crimea, he held back. When he made enormous progress in Syria, the West tried to provoke him in to doing something stupid by blowing up his plane. They are continually trying to provoke him to do something stupid. Energy derivatives are crashing badly. The bankers need oil profits badly to keep afloat. ISIS is illegally selling Syrian oil at rock-bottom prices to keep the big banks going. Putin is killing the illegal oil business in Syria by blowing up the tankers. He always finds a way to make you pay a very heavy price for attacking him. Also, Putin outed the 40 countries that finance ISIS at a G-20 meeting. Since he outed them, they are going to have to make a pretence of shutting off the support.

Russia was going to send S-300 missiles to Syria. After the shootdown, they are sending S-400.

Turkey made lots of money selling stolen Syrian oil from ISIS. ISIS shot down a Russian airliner. Turkey is a base for ISIS. As revenge, Russia destroyed the business of stolen oil being transported to Turkey. Turkey shot down a Russian plane that was attacking ISIS in Syrian airspace. Turkey is / was collapsing economically. The loss of the oil will hurt them. So, Erdogan thought up the stupidest thing possible. He thought no matter how stupid he was, NATO would back him.
