Karen Armstrong has been a hero of mine for the last decade or so. She's written numerous best sellers, including A History of God and The Battle For God (in which she states at the end that the world will come into war if we do not begin to seek and see the similarities we have within faiths rather than differences. Incidently, I finished reading a Battle For God in September of 2001, just as the Twin Towers were attacked and it made the book all the more profound for me).
In this TED video she is asking for all to bring COMPASSION to the forefront of our actions, words and thoughts. To invoke the Golden Rule, which is a dominant tenant of all the major faiths. I am of immense hope that we can remake our world into a kingdom of peace and prosperity and it all starts with Compassion.
