I know they've been in development by several companies over the years and they want all of us to be implanted.

Seems MONDEX is the company that is producing these by the billions, possibly so check it out. This isn't anything new but knowing the exact company, etc... this is something that we don't have to accept and it doesn't have to happen.

Similar to RFID

This uses similar tech to RFID tags. In my last job before leaving the corporate world in disgust, i was involved in the development and proliferation of RFID (radio freq. identification); for "Avery Dennison Corp"; one of the leading suppliers of the tags themselves, and label printers/writers for programming them.

Few people outside of the retail/warehousing/packaging industry realize that Wal Mart, together with the U.S. DoD who also went to RFID, have forced nearly the entire US manufacturing sector to embrace and eventually move to RFID for all package labeling... the stated reasons being that an RFID tag can hold more than 50 times the info that any barcode label can (and so make warehousing ID easier and more efficient). As of 3 years ago, every supplier to Wal Mart had to have an RFID label on every skid of merchandise they send in to them by truck... if one was missing, the entire load was refused and sent back. The eventual goal, (which was postponed for a few years because it is so unrealistic), is to have every single item with an RFID tag on it.

Lol, i had a Customer in Ohio who made cheap plastic beach balls and other toys. The cost of an RFID label was double the manufacturing cost of the ball . But Wal Mart, the most draconian nightmare of any manufacturer, didn't care. "Do it or don't do business with us." They hold tremendous power over their vendors that way.

There are clothing manufacturers who have secretly started embedding RFID tags into their apparel. Some have been caught, and they stopped due to public outrage. Others are probably still doing it.

An RFID tag can contain up to 2 megs of digital data now, and the size keeps climbing. They are self-powered, using the RF energy from a base transceiver to activate them, and radiate back data (the extremely thin and flat copper antennas also work as a capacitor for power supply). Thus everything about the product (or perhaps about the consumer as well, gotten from their credit card when they bought it, then written to the tag automatically) can be put on it, and read as the person simply walks by a hidden receiver... Most are "write-many-times"; so new data can be added by transceivers too.

New U.S. Passports have this tech in them for the last 2 years also.

This technology gave me the creeps, and i felt bad enough about what was going to quit that job (it paid good, too lol). If anyone saw the movie "Minority Report" you may remember that as a person walked through the corridors of a mall or some public place, ads popped up tailored specifically to them: This is how they plan to do this. It is an outrageous breaching of our rights to privacy, and another example of how the corporate world thinks it "owns" us, and can do as it likes.

I remember that movie, and those scenes. It really does give one the creeps when thinking how such a system could be, and probably will be, abused. I remember seeing an ad on the back of a Mason's magazine a few years ago that was promoting the idea of sponsoring child tagging events, and promoting it this way to the public as a child safety idea. In other words, start with the youngest generation since it will be easier to tag them now than when they become adults and can make their own decisions. Kidnappers, and dognappers for that matter, are already onto the possibility of their targets having being tagged, and know where to look and how to remove the tags. As adults, we currently have the choice of being tagged or not, unless our employer demands the tagging and we want to work for them. To encourage adults to choose being tagged they will try to sell us on the idea that this may save our life in an emergency by allowing medical personnel to quickly ascertain your complete medical history. In future years, we will find it more and more difficult to avoid being tagged, because money and cards will no longer be used or accepted for any purchases. As a built-in "safety and anti-theft security feature," future devices that we use often, (such as a computer, phone, digital camera, automobile, etc.) will operate only if the user's tag matches the device's owner or owners id info. It is definitely the ultimate "Big Brother" tool, and opens a Pandora's Box of potential and likely abuse. I hope I won't live to see the day when my grandchildren, or their children, are routinely tagged at school or elsewhere.
