  • Is YouTube In Bed With The Government

The last five days has been H*** for me trying to access YT, why?

Well it is something like s.ytimg.com loading something. I have looked on the net and there is no clear answer, most blame it on FireFox, I think FireFox is much better than a Windows Browser (sneak peeker), but I am at a point where I can not view YT and can not add as this s.ytimg.com thing runs and runs and runs.

Anybody know what's going on here? Am I just a nut case?

    Thanks.

It looks pretty like a Virus, what you have got.
You should get a Virscanner and check your PC.
When you dont know any, maybe Antivir is a cheap Choice.
There is another Tool, where you can prevent attacks, its called S&D, search and Destroy. Works for most Trojans.
    The home of Spybot-S&D!
I didnt have any Problems with Youtube the last Days.
Theorizer are like High Voltage. A lot hot Air with no Power behind but they are the dead of applied Work and Ideas.

Thanks for the info, although I do indeed run Spybot and AVG. My internal network is running under NAT and I do have a good Firewall. Nothing (Scanning) software detects anything.

Like I said I run Firefox as the browser all my machines are XP Pro. So really I have a double firewall.

No I think it is something YouTube is doing. It appears the program wantes to execute scripts.

      Thanks.

Right, seems it is a Service from Youtube.
I did put it into Google, and someone wrote, its a Bug from an MS update,
        ->s.ytimg.com - YouTube-Hilfe

an other Opinion is, it are the Settings of the Flashplayer, when you allow access there to your Cam and your Microphone.

          Cookies and/or header viewer

First try killing all cookies .. they can get screwed up ..
Tools / Options / Privacy / Show Cookies
and then find anything about yahoo.com and s.ytimg.com and delete all those cookies.
          Then try ...

If that still does not help..

You can get an add-on to firefox that allows you
to view what is going on behind that normally is out of view..

It's called Live HTTP headers ..
I'm not saying it will help, but it's better than being totally blind without any
idea of that is going on happening between your browser and the server it is talking to.

          Good Luck

s.ytimg.com Is on google servers. Google has been known to be in bed with the government. When you watch a utube video it looks for s.ytimg and as far as I know you need it to view them. Those with cameras on their computers is different. I think by default utube can access the camera and microphone. All you have to do is right click on any utube video to change it.

            1. Go onto youtube and click on any video at all
            2. right click on where the video screen is AFTER THE VIDEO LOADED AND IS PLAYING!!
            3. click on stetting
            4. then click on deny, then close…
