This movement is growing and is of course kept out of the media.

State Sovereignty Movement Hits Partisan Roadblock

By Dave Nalle - March 8, 2009 at 6:46 PM

Efforts in more than half of the state legislatures to assert state sovereignty under the Tenth Amendment to the Constitution and prevent unwanted impositions by the federal government are now facing serious partisan opposition.
Most of the bills have been introduced and are supported by Republican legislators and Democrats are doing everything they can to block them and make sure that their states comply with federal mandates issued by a national Congress dominated by their party. They seem more concerned with profiting from their control of the federal government than in protecting the rights of their citizens and being fiscally responsible.

I've been looking at this and was wondering what does it mean.
What are they trying to achieve (besides following the Constitution).

        Looking at New Hampshire's HCR6 (2009) – AS INTRODUCED
Affirming States' rights based on Jeffersonian principles
        Status: HOUSE: INEXPEDIENT TO LEGISLATE
        Length: 2382 words

The end of the document states:
That should any such act of Congress become law or Executive Order or Judicial Order be put into force, all powers previously delegated to the United States of America by the Constitution for the United States shall revert to the several States individually. Any future government of the United States of America shall require ratification of three quarters of the States seeking to form a government of the United States of America and shall not be binding upon any State not seeking to form such a government; and

That copies of this resolution be transmitted by the house clerk to the President of the United States, each member of the United States Congress, and the presiding officers of each State’s legislature.
I understand the above to mean, the USA federal government, in the eyes of NH, would become null, void, zip, zero and to give back any power to the then voided federal gov would requiring a 3/4 vote of the States.
        Am I reading this correctly?

        At HCR6 Roll Calls
Under the column "question/motion" ITL the vote was 216 YEAS and 150 NAYS
I don't know what ITL means???
I found ITL is the acronym for "Inexpedient to Legislate".
But what does that mean.. that it could sit in limbo for 50 years?

          The radicalization of the Right

This is certainly an interesting phenomena.. Buts let's view it in context.

First lemme say i believe both Parties in the US are 2 sides of the same coin... This country is now an oligarchy and has been for many years... It really doesn't matter which is in control.

Now, look at the "Radicalization of the Right" that we are now seeing (since the beginning of the year). Very angry and constant attacks on Obama, and things like this happening in State Legislatures. "Crazy talk" lol... "New" conspiracy theories abounding.

What they are doing is capitalizing on the "Ron Paul Revolution" -type ideas of anti-government populism, and the concepts of "New World Order" put forth by people like Alex Jones (...but without actually defining anything, unless it is to say it is "communist conspiracy" to create a "socialist order").

But are these people who are pushing this radical hatred now on the Right really for what Ron Paul stands for?? Lol, no.. Not at all. They are the same people who were laughing mean-spiritedly at him and trying their best to marginalize him back in the Primaries... Trying their best to make Dr. Paul look like a "tin hat crazy"... Lol do these people have any MEMORY at all?

...And where were these newly-radicalized people on the Right 6 months ago...?

Calling the rest of us "crazy conspiracy theorists"... Thats exactly where most of them were 6 months ago....

When the people in the media they listen to (like Beck or Limbaugh or Hennedy) were telling them to be "loyal" (back when of course, Bush and his gang were "coincidentally" still running things)... Now, they are being whipped up into a frenzy of indignant anger over every single thing Obama says or does... And listening to crazy conspiracy theories.

Lol, don't any of them see the irony in that? All these issues were indeed issues back then, too (such as Afghanistan or the bank bail-out)... But they were "Required for Freedom and Prosperity"... Now when the other side of the coin are in power, they are "evil" and show a monstrous conspiracy... lol it is just too strange.

So this voting completely along party lines on this subject hardly makes it very impressive. It is just another way to keep us divided (and it proves that the reason behind these votes has nothing to do with what we would expect Sovereignty to be about, but is really about DIVISION)... As they have successfully divided us for many years. As long as we are completely manipulated and polarized, we are no threat to them.

If these things were really about solving the many and very dangerous problems of this nation.. Would the votes be on Party lines? Lol, would these votes ever even make it to the Floors of these Legislatures?

I think only the most partisan "team rooter" could believe that: That their side has all the "good guys" on it; and the "other team" are all bad.

So i have lately been telling my newly-radicalized Conservative friends (whom i've been in political debates with for years..) to just stop and look at this a minute: Some of the very same things i was saying last year, they are saying now.. Yet when they say it, the background is not about how corrupt and controlled the 2-party system is, but how those damn socialist demo-rats are trying to create the new Soviet World Empire

Yet when Obama's policies are closely looked at, there is nothing of real substance (not rhetoric now, but actual SUBSTANCE as in what has really happened, not just being "discussed" by talking-heads in the media.. Which stilt nearly every conversation and define the debates to their own conclusions), between Obama and Bush: The actual policies "on the ground" are identical.... Just spun in a different rotational direction

You see, it just doesn't add-up. But it does point to some very sophisticated mind-fracking going on here

            State Sovereignty bill

            Thanks Randy!

I think most of these bills will be written about the same - here is the one from Washington state.

Read first time 01/30/09. Referred to Committee on State Government &
            Tribal Affairs.

1 TO THE HONORABLE BARACK OBAMA, PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES, AND
2 TO THE PRESIDENT OF THE SENATE AND THE SPEAKER OF THE HOUSE OF
3 REPRESENTATIVES, AND TO THE SENATE AND HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
4 UNITED STATES, IN CONGRESS ASSEMBLED, AND TO THE PRESIDENT OF THE
5 SENATE AND SPEAKER OF THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF EACH STATE'S
6 LEGISLATURE OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA:

7 We, your Memorialists, the Senate and House of Representatives of
8 the State of Washington, in legislative session assembled, respectfully
9 represent and petition as follows:

10 WHEREAS, The Tenth Amendment to the Constitution of the United
11 States specifically provides that, "The powers not delegated to the
12 United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States,
13 are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people."; and
14 WHEREAS, The Tenth Amendment defines the total scope of federal
15 power as being those powers specifically granted to it by the
16 Constitution of the United States and no more; and
17 WHEREAS, Federalism is the constitutional division of powers
18 between the national and state governments and is widely regarded as
19 one of America's most valuable contributions to political science; and
            p. 1 HJM 4009

1 WHEREAS, James Madison, "the father of the Constitution," said,
2 "The powers delegated to the federal government are few and defined.
3 Those which are to remain in the state governments are numerous and
4 indefinite. The former will be exercised principally on external
5 objects, [such] as war, peace, negotiation, and foreign commerce. The
6 powers reserved to the several states will extend to all the objects
7 which, in the ordinary course of affairs, concern the lives, liberties,
8 and properties of the people."; and

9 WHEREAS, Thomas Jefferson emphasized that the states are not
10 "subordinate" to the national government, but rather the two are
11 "coordinate departments of one simple and integral whole. The one is
            12 the domestic, the other the foreign branch of the same government.";
            13 and

14 WHEREAS, Alexander Hamilton expressed his hope that "the people
15 will always take care to preserve the constitutional equilibrium
16 between the general and the state governments." He believed that "this
17 balance between the national and state governments forms a double
18 security to the people. If one [government] encroaches on their
19 rights, they will find a powerful protection in the other. Indeed,
20 they will both be prevented from overpassing their constitutional
21 limits by [the] certain rivalship which will ever subsist between
            22 them."; and

23 WHEREAS, The scope of power defined by the Tenth Amendment means
24 that the federal government was created by the states specifically to
25 be limited in its powers relative to those of the various states; and
26 WHEREAS, Today, in 2009, the states are demonstrably treated as
27 agents of the federal government; and

28 WHEREAS, Many federal mandates are directly in violation of the
29 Tenth Amendment to the Constitution of the United States; and
30 WHEREAS, The United States Supreme Court has ruled in New York v.
31 United States, 112 S. Ct. 2408 (1992), that Congress may not simply
32 commandeer the legislative and regulatory processes of the states; and
33 WHEREAS, A number of proposals from previous administrations and
34 some now being considered by the present administration and from
            35 Congress may further violate the Constitution of the United States;
36 NOW, THEREFORE, Your Memorialists respectfully resolve:
37 (1) That the State of Washington hereby claims sovereignty under
            HJM 4009 p. 2

1 the Tenth Amendment to the Constitution of the United States over all
2 powers not otherwise enumerated and granted to the federal government
3 by the Constitution of the United States; and

4 (2) That this serve as a Notice and Demand to the federal
5 government to maintain the balance of powers where the Constitution of
6 the United States established it and to cease and desist, effective
7 immediately, any and all mandates that are beyond the scope of its
            8 constitutionally delegated powers.

9 BE IT RESOLVED, That copies of this Memorial be immediately
10 transmitted to the Honorable Barack Obama, President of the United
11 States, the President of the United States Senate, the Speaker of the
12 House of Representatives, the President of the Senate and the Speaker
13 of the House of Representatives of each state's legislature of the
14 United States of America, and each member of Congress from the State of
            15 Washington.

I guess they're not all worded the same but the message is the same....the federal govt only has power that is authorized by the constitution...Montana's is all about affirming their right to firearms and ammunition and it appears to have passed.

New Hampshire's is sweet, they have an itemized list.
Acts which would cause such a nullification include, but are not limited to:

                I. Establishing martial law or a state of emergency within one of the States comprising the United States of America without the consent of the legislature of that State.

II. Requiring involuntary servitude, or governmental service other than a draft during a declared war, or pursuant to, or as an alternative to, incarceration after due process of law.

III. Requiring involuntary servitude or governmental service of persons under the age of 18 other than pursuant to, or as an alternative to, incarceration after due process of law.

IV. Surrendering any power delegated or not delegated to any corporation or foreign government.

                V. Any act regarding religion; further limitations on freedom of political speech; or further limitations on freedom of the press.

VI. Further infringements on the right to keep and bear arms including prohibitions of type or quantity of arms or ammunition; and

What I see happening here is that some of the sheeple are starting to wake up to what’s been going on in Washington, at least I hope so, and they don’t like what they’re seeing.
It appears to me that we have slowly evolved to a one party system that just changes its name every few years. But by doing that it allows the people “feel” that they are still in control.

The resent tea parties give me hope that all is not lost. Yet isn’t it interesting how many in the main stream media to protect their power base are in a frenzy to paint this movement as nothing more then a bunch of right wing kooks.

Montana Governor Signs New Gun Law

The States continue to work on their Sovereignty.

Text of the New Law in Montana HOUSE BILL NO. 246

and the entire article ,of which, just the beginning is quoted below ...

The State of Montana has defied the federal government and their gun laws. This will prompt a showdown between the federal government and the State of Montana. The federal government fears citizens owning guns. They try to curtail what types of guns they can own. The gun control laws all have one common goal – confiscation of privately owned firearms.

Montana has gone beyond drawing a line in the sand. They have challenged the Federal Government. The fed now either takes them on and risks them saying the federal agents have no right to violate their state gun laws and arrest the federal agents that try to enforce the federal firearms acts. This will be a world-class event to watch. Montana could go to voting for secession from the union, which is really throwing the gauntlet in Obamas face. If the federal government does nothing they lose face. Gotta love it.
Texas is kinda sitting on the side lines watching Montana, a "wait and see" ...
