Don’t you see what is going on? You have been conditioned to argue over who was the worst president be it BO, Bush, Clinton, bush 1, etc. but the reality is it is like comparing tweedledee to tweedledum . When each of these came into office they promised to usher in great change. Yet not much changed.

Bush 1 said read my lips “no new taxes” and of course he raised taxes and was kicked out. Clinton tried to raise taxes for socialized medicine and was kicked out. Bush 2 come in promoting a facially sound economy and wound up spending money like a drunken democrat and is kicked out. Now we have BO trying to fix Bush’s massive spending by spend ten times as much. How can this be? Could it be that our presidents are not really the ones in control of the country but just pawns following orders?

Consider the last election during the primaries there were a few well qualified individuals from both parties but unfortunately they were quickly discounted by the MSM. The MSM from day one had already decided who you were going to be allowed to vote for. You were told to grab your red or blue flags and jump up and down and cheer for one of the candidates they had chosen for you. Thus with all of the really qualified people we have in this country we would up with this bunch of losers? Could it be the these individuals were picked because the puppet masters who are operating quietly out of the lime light knew that whoever won they would have control them and they would do whatever they were told?

This is no joke. $100 is only worth 100 dollars because theres a finite number of them in existance. What happens when you create 1000 times the number of them that currently exist and flood the markets with it...they become 1000 times cheaper.

This is only possible becuase we are off the Gold Standard (which itself is a disgrace). Our Money has Nothing to back up its value Except "the number in existance". Do you see what this means??

There was nothing greater than standing with 7,000 americans chanting U.S.A, demanding freedom from this uncontrollable spending of our hard earned money. In america if your business doesnt succeed, You Fail, and the strong survive and thrive. No company is to big to fail....They never were in the past and it was a disgrace for them to be this year. Obama has a plan to solve the current mess of health care in America.

He wants to pay now so the future will be much better and less expensive regarding health care.

Right now we pay 50% or more on health care than any other country. Yet our health care results are on par with Serbia's.

A lot of that has to do with the fact that we spend barely anything on prevention. An analogy is that we keep sending ambulances to collect dead bodies at the bottom of the canyon rather than building a guard rail at the top.

Obama wants to start putting the $ into prevention (which will pay off hugely in the long run) without causing total disruption to the current way of life we have.

This will cost money up front but will pay off over time.

Another thing he wants to do is change over from pen and paper medical records to electronic ones. This will save time, money, and probably increase the quality of medical care a ton. As it is said, we are better able to track a Fex Ex package than someone's health.

If you are against health care reform you are siding with pharmaceutical and health insurance companies who spend billions fighting it.

It doesnt looks all that good, as it seems, when you look deeper.
Once, there are still a lot People at US what do miss, just to make a Insurance, and there are even a lot People, what dont want to do one.
We Must. From that it will be a different Market, where the whole care System can work with it.
But i am even close sure, that with what they have right now at Members,
they could make it save, to have a good and cheap care System.

But where did all the Money go to, what they did got till now?
And its the same here, we got a lot of Managers in there, where allways have her 100 000 p.A or double and some Bonuses, because they work so hard?
When i have a Income from 2000€, min i have to pay for me is 250€.
When i have Income from 1000€ i still have to pay the same.
And then, there is nothing said about, how the Doctors cheat at all,
making wrong Bills, and give you Medicaments, where they either been sponsored from the pharmaceutical companies
or you get some, what only makes it more worse, or addicted or gives other Symptomes, where you need a advanced care after it.
Under the Line it looks more, its better, you stay at Natural Things, to heal yourself.
And right now, we have to pay 10€ for each Visit of the Doctor from our own Bag.
But still have to pay each Months a not small Amount for our Health Care.
The Board of Manager still get 100k or more, but they tell us each Year, they have to less Money, and have to increase contribution.

What Obama there do is only trow another Big Stone into the Black Hole,
to show like, see, i do something for you all and sounds more like a Plan B.
Figure, 1,5 Trillions, Who does this Money come from. Again from the Bank?
And EXACTLY the same they did do with us, once, they told us, they have to put several 100 000 000 or more into our Health care,

One reason there is a need to rush are the countless examples that grow each day of people who die waiting for health insurance companies to approve the medicines and procedures they need to live. Oh and of course all those who suffer and/or die bc they don't have health insurance. And those who are given incorrect treatment and have a horrible reaction. If you think they can wait, you should be the one to explain that to them and their survivors.

The second reason is our system absolutely can not sustain itself if it stays on course. Every day we don't fix it it gets that much worse.

I could not disagree more with your statement that our current system can go on just fine and there are countless numbers of people, many in very desperate situations, who also disagree with it.

I believe you are in a minority if you are satisfied with the current situation regarding health care in the US. Good for you but how about some compassion for those not as fortunate? This is no minor issue for them/us.

There is no question that our health care system is broke. However you need to realize that the main goal of this system is to make money and if as a side effect they are some people are actually helped well that is just fringe benefit. The objective here is not to actually cure people, there is no money in that, but rather to be able to control their disease. Thus pouring an extra 1.5 trillion dollars into this system is not going to help the people that really need it.

Even though this might seem counterproductive consider this. Perhaps the best way to get affordable health care would be to eliminate insurance.
Because right now if a person goes to his doctor no test or procedure will be rejected if they have the insurance to pay for it. It does not matter how expensive that test or procedure might be or even if it is really needed because as long as someone else is supposedly paying for it only the vary best will do and even that may not be considered good enough. Then add to that if the doctor makes a mistake, which they seem to do on a regular basis, they can expect to be sued. The result is that doctors practice defensive medicine, they do everything exactly by the book that way if there is a problem they can claim to have provided you the best possible care.

Unfortunately the reality is you wind up paying an exorbitant price to receive mediocre care.

Here is an example of this system in action. Several years ago where I was working after lunch some of the guys would go outside and play a softball on the lawn. One day a good hard hit line drive is going out past the pitcher. He reaches out to catch it, however his reach is not quite long enough. He winds up trying to stop the ball with the tip of one finger. Regrettably his finger was not quite strong enough and the ball bent it backwards to some strange angle. Were upon he said “Ouch! Oh Gee wiz that hurt” or maybe some other words to that effect.

As it turned out his father happened to be a doctor so naturally he have him a call and asked what to do. His father told him that if he was one of his patients the first thing he tell them to do is rush over to an emergency clinic were they would take an X-ray of the finger and confirm the obvious that it was indeed broken. They would give him a shot for the pain and maybe a shot of vitamins just for good measure. They would then grab hold of the finger and straighten it out as best they could and then wrap it in gauze and tie it to a special finger splint to keep it from moving while it heals. And they would probably tell him he was an idiot for trying to catch a baseball without a glove.

Or he could grab hold of the finger as straighten it out as best he could then wrap it with gauze get some coffee stirrer sticks from the cafeteria and tie them to it to keep it from moving. And if the pain is a problem take an aspirin. And oh yes you’re an idiot for trying to catch a baseball without a glove.


So until we are willing to use common sense and address these core problems just throwing more money at health care is not going to have much of an effect.

I agree with everything you wrote except for the last statement.

If other countries are paying 1/2 of what we are for better health care, it IS going to help to at least do what they are doing.

Most other industries have saved billions by changing to computer systems from pen and paper. That's something else worth doing.

We should at least do what we can, even if other aspects are very challenging. I'm not willing to say I just give up while so many are suffering, dying, going bankrupt, etc. and while the number of those just keeps going up and up.

As far as the big issue you bring up, the incentive to treat but not cure, that's a biggie.

I remember Kevin saying that in China the doctors got (get?) paid if their patients are healthy, but not if they are sick. That sounds like good incentive
