Have you ever wondered about how much the internet has impacted how we all relate to each other? In the last 15 years the internet has globally connected the entire world. Hundreds of Millions of us can instantly talk to each other from every corner of the planet.
Iran can no longer torture its protesters behind closed doors then tell the world "our society is more stable than anyone elses". Those old tactics have been beaten by the power of communication. We all seen the truth of what they did... Imagine if 9/11 happened 20 years ago. What would you even know about it? We would have to rely on the tv media and none of us would know half of the facts. Perhaps underestimating the power of the internet is why they were so sloppy. WTC7 Fell from off hand fires? Really?
The internet is a spotlight. Its a magnifier. Its Communication.
Whats the difference between going to war with your fellow countrymen or going to war with a different country? You only interact with one of them.
I personally think communication is the key to peace, or at least a very big step towards it. When you disagree with a stranger...you fight. When you disagree with a companion..you talk sense into them.
People of the world need to keep talking to each other, instead of having theyre government "represent" them. Thats my opinion.
