  • Sleazy Chicago Politics - In Congress

    Obamacare will soon be law.

Looks like Obama is getting just what he wanted out of a congress that is unconstitutionally bribing politicans to win theyre votes. Dont agree with a bill?? Thats okay, hundreds of millions of dollars going to your state will change that in a heartbeat! (if your reading this...thats your money theyre bribing with)

I have never seen anything more disgusting out of this congress. A Nebraska Senator who refuses to vote on a bill has a sudden change of heart once he is paid off, all the while the govenor of the same state is begging for the senator not to vote for that bill. The govenor claims that bill is not what the citizens of Nebraska want..So who the hell is Senator Ben Nelson representing?

A dont know a whole lot about the political process but if Obama enacts this health care disaster bill into law he will downright be one of the most two faced politians to hold office over our great country. His claim of needing bi-partisanship is a complete lie. His claim of such bills being fully debated on cspan, a complete lie. I've lost count of how many back-door deals and bills are being added.

How about this military defense bill? These sleazy politicans have thrown in Billions of dollars worth of back-door Earmarks.. Why would they put civillian spending programs into a military defense spending budget?? They know the bill is guarunteed to pass. Its a guarunteed lottery win. The truth is, the earmarks contained within this bill (All 4 Billion dollars worth) are simply deplorable and cannot be any more disgusting. Obama's promise of bills being earmark free, a complete lie.

Obama preached from the Center the entire time he ran as a candidate. I wish he would have governed from the center but all we have ended up with is a lying politican and a congress who only knows how to spend money like its water.

Rickoff, your approval ratings index chart is nice. Its a big "X" which should advise future presidents to do the exact opposit of everything Obama has done lol.

Glad you liked the approval ratings chart, Nadda. Everything you say in your post is true, except that things have changed now that Scott Brown has been elected by Massachusetts voters. This breaks the Democrat filibuster proof majority of 60 that they had while Ted Kennedy was seated, and can make this terrible "healthcare" bill grind to a halt. The people have spoken, and Congress had better wake up and listen!

Still finding it hard to accept that, Health Care Reform actually got signed into law. Had really hoped that even with all the slick deals, bought votes, and who knows what happened in those private meetings, it would still fail to pass. Mostly, because of elections this fall, and just the dirty, an anti-American way it was slip through the democratic process. The vote being close, and not even all the Democrats on board, would indicate the proposal had problems, and not a great idea. Should have been scrapped, and a new approach taken. There were a few good elements, and could have been a great start.

I doubt that this mess can be put into effect by 2014. It's going to take most people that long to read both bills, and figure out what they actually have to do to comply. I'm sure there are plenty of work-arounds, and various open doors for abuse and fraud (basic legislative practice, steal until you get caught, then fix it).

Let's face it, those of working, and already have some sort of heath insurance, are going to pay more for it, and the companies we work for are going to get a little tighter on the raises and perks. Tax credits? To offset insurance costs, or just higher taxes.

Young adults are really going to get the shaft, since they have less need of seeing a doctor, or use for insurance, but the do need to pay college tuition, save to buy a house, starting a business... Tough enough, starting out at the bottom of the pay-scale, and now a new bill they get nothing out of, except the gratitude of lazy bums, having a good time on the free prescription drugs.

50 million people without health insurance, about 16% of the population. Figure only a small fraction of that, are people who want insurance, but don't have the means to get it. The rest are unemployed, either because of the economy or by choice, don't want insurance, or just waiting for another government freebie. Wonder how many with no health insurance, do have a cellphone (Iphone), video games, $148/month TV programming...

I agree that all employers should offer some medical benefits, which an employee can choose to enroll, and wouldn't mind helping pay for that. You have to be responsible enough to hold a job, if you want to keep the insurance.

Insurance is the reason why visiting a doctor is so expensive, and this reform doesn't change that enough, just more people paying the excessive costs. This is more of a reward, than reform. Notice how the insurance companies only fought a few issues, but not the entire bill? They knew it was going to bring in a lot of money, and only wanted more, with less work.

The presidential signature does not a law make. The law MUST have a Title and Enacting Clause and be filed in the Federal Registry; then each state must ratify the purposed Law providing for the Title and Enacting Clause and the new LAW must be filed in the state Registry.

Many so called LAWS are worthless pieces of paper at the state and federal level (90%). Note also that the United States of America went bankrupt in 1930, the new Corporation is called the UNITED STATES (US). The corporation (fiction) can NEVER dictate to the Flesh and Blood (natural born).

You may have also noticed that during the China Olympics opening ceremonies the UNITED STATES was refereed by the announcer as "The Corporate UNITED STATES.

Codes are not laws (traffic Codes, etc) to flesh and blood unless you are contracted or have given consent.
