I thought it was interesting that such an obvious abuse of someone's human rights and what is arguably history's worst attack on the freedom of the press, not to mention the longest running cyber-attack of all time, goes un-noticed by Amnesty International.

But guess who won Amnesty International (UK's) Media Awards for Best New Media story in 2009? That would be the guy being held as a political prisoner in the UK right now, Mr Julian Assange.

So what we're talking about here, ultimately, is freedom of the press. I don't know anyone who's read everything on wikileaks. You'd be reading non stop for a year and a half if you tried, there's over 40,000 documents, some hundreds of pages long. Good luck linking them all to some conspiracy theory in any way that makes a modicum of sense.

Anyway, Julian doesn't write the things that get published on wikileaks. Just so you know. All he does is operate a website where anyone at all can publish anything they might have come by, that they think shouldn't be kept secret. You make it sound like you think julian sits in a room writing to a script, to help the illuminati take over the world, if that's your level of understanding of what the website is about, you're tragically mistaken.

As a matter of fact, Julia Gillard, Australia's Prime Minister, has openly and publicly condemned Mr Assange since the start of this latest attacks on wikileaks, saying "the foundation stone of wikileaks is an illegal act." and although she's been challenged in the media to do so, she still can't name a single law wikileaks breaks, anywhere, international or Australian. And yet she does not retract her comments or alter her position tHere's a name for that, it's called being pig-headed. People (ie, human rights lawyers, newspaper editors, reporters, barristers etc etc etc,) are calling Julian Assange 'Gillard's David Hicks,' and openly slamming her in the media for utterly failing to offer even token support for this Australian citizen, wanted by the US for an alleged mystery crime that makes no legal sense whatsoever.

It's a shame someone with such an obvious interest in fighting the good fight as yourself has been duped so badly. I don't know where you get this information from, but I encourage you to challenge your source, to ask for examples or evidence, because you're the only one here shooting the messenger, mate.

Just as an aside, I believe inciting others to commit a crime is in and of itself a criminal act. In that light, should not Bob Beckle be charged with inciting to murder?

One net crawler has posted an article where he's gone a searched for cached versions of the tweets and blog postings from Julian's Swedish accusers. Among other things, one of his accusers posts of her intention to "take revenge" on Assange shortly before the rape accusation was made, and then after the accusations were made, deleted the the posts announcing her intentions. Deleting your copy of a file doesn't mean nobody else has copies though. The article also quotes the tweets mentioned earlier in this thread where the victims were talking about partying with Julian, and drops another bombshell, Julian was living with one of the women for a couple of weeks while he was in sweden, at her invitation, and that they had a casual sexual relationship, which was known to others.
