  • Here's an interesting read, an investigative piece into anonymous, with material gathered from interviews in IRC chats and cloud applications. To the un-initiated, it's almost like scifi. It also shows that ultimately, they reaslise (or at least some of them do,) that they're nothing more than a high tech PR tool. Like I said, an interesting read.

    • The judge has permitted tweeting from inside the courtroom, meaning twitter is an up to the second source of unfiltered information and commentary on the hearing, albeit in short bursts.

      • Assange has been granted conditional bail.

200,000 pounds, to be paid in cash at court before he's released, and the pros have been given two hours to appeal bail.

        • two new anon ops, too, less disruptive and more coercive this time.

          Faceoff and Leakspin.

(the leakspin video made me laugh, had a "the game" internet injoke buried in it as a flash subliminal.)

          • I think people in the US need to prepare themselves for the probability that the rest of the world will soon be shaking fistfulls of hard evidence of US warcrimes in Iraq and Afghanistan. Evidence that's come mostly from wikileaks (In particular the war diaries.) Indeed, the leakspin operation is targeted at doing exactly that.

Now, before a sense of persecution and an overwhelming urge to protect your nation kicks in, think.

First of all, these leaks aren't lies fabricated by people who hate America. They're hard truths, and they've been leaked to the world by an American, from classified repositories of US military records.

What wikileaks is doing isn't an attack on the principles of freedom and liberty, it's a defense of them. There's a cadre of very, very unkind and greedy people that steer your country from war to war with no interest other than the economic gains for their corporate concerns. People who's tenure in government positions has persisted across several administrations, the openly unelected military and industrial elite. People who've banked cheque after cheque from cost plus deal after bailout after cleanup fund after lobbing fundraiser. People's who's net worth eclipses the GDP of some small countries. People who have built and who ride a war machine that operates above politics and earns trillions.

THAT is who this attack is aimed up. But they're far enough up that when they are attacked, they can cry about national security, and people in the US automatically believe them. They can sound the terrorist alarm bell, and everyone puts the blinkers on and runs for the shelters while the gold gets cleared out of the basement of the building we're all running away from. Their defence at this time depends on a conditioned response from you.

So if you have seen any of the wikileaks footage and thought, "that's just not right." and been ashamed, and wondered how your government could do such things in your name, don't be ashamed. It's not your government. It's not your system. Its' not you. It's the pirates riding a decent country into the ground, and getting close to a time for you guys pull together and stand up to them. Most of the world is on your side, so don't let them tell you it's us against them; we're with you.

Those war crimes aren't being committed by average Americans. They're being committed by average Americans who've being needlessly subjected to the horrors of war, and who've had so much of what's good about them as people trained out of them, drilled out of them, so they'll fight, kill and die without question. See, that's dangerous.

We should always question. We should always value human life. We should always wonder if what we're doing is truly for the best. We should always be careful of anyone who says otherwise.

I'm thinking at the moment of nations like Japan and Germany, who've had to deal with the unique shame of being accused and found guilty of war crimes by their international peers. In both those cases though, the years since have shown that not only can a country come to terms with the shame, but that dealing with it makes a nation stronger, more open with it's people and more peaceful in international relations.

Counter to expectations, and an indication they would explain their position after the deadline expired, the swedes have taken the appeal at the last minute of the 2 hour deadline. 48 hours while the judge decides, back to Jail and 23 and a half hours a day in solitary with no contact with the outside world for Mr Assange.

and in spite of another 4,000 people following the twitter account of one journalist in the court, twitter still says with a straight face #wikileaks and #assange are not trending? Then how come if I do a search on twitter for wiikileaks, new sets of 20 new tweets are added to the search results faster than an identical search for the alleged top trending topics?

Some more expert legal commentary on the particulars of the case for which Assange has been granted bail, and then re-imprisoned. This is just getting ridiculous. Held without charge for crimes that aren't even crimes yet? His accusers are in hiding and the prosecutors know the allegations have already been dismissed once? I'd be suing. Both the country holding me and the country demanding I be held.

Looks like the same as with this Rothshild Attorny,

US to be subjected to internet filter laws

Link takes you to a petition to stop FCC Net Neutrality (read, compulsory filtering and censoring of the internet by your private ISP's.) The vote is set for December 21st 2010, probably while most of the government, except those complicit in this attack on freedom of information, are on holidays. (2112 2010)

I would urge you to contact your senators and congressmen and express your feelings on this matter to them directly, and ask if they'll be voting, and how.

Don't let them sneak this in like they snuck in the federal reserve act. Good luck with the good fight!

                                For the record

                                http://www.nytimes.com/2010/12/16/wo...i.html?_r=1&hp
WASHINGTON — Federal prosecutors, seeking to build a case against the WikiLeaks leader Julian Assange for his role in a huge dissemination of classified government documents, are looking for evidence of any collusion in his early contacts with an Army intelligence analyst suspected of leaking the information.
                                State’s Secrets

Articles in this series examine American diplomatic cables as a window on relations with the rest of the world in an age of war and terrorism.

Justice Department officials are trying to find out whether Mr. Assange encouraged or even helped the analyst, Pfc. Bradley Manning, to extract classified military and State Department files from a government computer system. If he did so, they believe they could charge him as a conspirator in the leak, not just as a passive recipient of the documents who then published them.

Among materials prosecutors are studying is an online chat log in which Private Manning is said to claim that he had been directly communicating with Mr. Assange using an encrypted Internet conferencing service as the soldier was downloading government files. Private Manning is also said to have claimed that Mr. Assange gave him access to a dedicated server for uploading some of them to WikiLeaks.
I dont see the Point for a Conspiracy here,
the Documents are now puplic, and they are writen from the USA Officials.
There is nothing like a Conspiracy against them, its all her own Fault.

But i allready know, that it is one of her tricks, to blame someone else
with the Crimes, what they do by herself.
