how to change current frequency

I dont know anything about electricity, so hopefully some of you guys can assist me on this one.
I need to have my current frequency up-ed to over 1.2 kHz (preferably a device that can vary the frequency as I need it)
I am in Europe, we use 220V 50Hz power
I read about signal generator, frequency converter, function generator, pulse generator...

Is pulse generator able to do this?
