How many fingers do you type with?

Just curious, I know technically your supposed to keep all your fingers on the keyboard but I never could get the hang of that..not sure why.

I only use my two index fingers to basically type all of my words. My right ring finger, i use to hit backspace and my left thumb to hit space. So I use four fingers total lol...Just curious to see how everyone else types.

Im nearly just as fast as typing the "right" way with all fingers. Its actually pretty amazing, with muscle memory I can type most all letters without looking at the keyboad..with no starting point reference. Its almost as if my fingers know where the keys are before my mind can even guess. Almost as if for that moment you are thinking with something that is outside of your brain. really fun stuff.

i pretty much use all fingers to type. I did not learn the right way of typing but i kinda got the hang of it as I use the computer in a daily basis but I should admit that I have a slightly high percentage of error. I use the backspace key more than anything else in the keyboard.

I cant for the life of me use all my fingers lol, maybe its just me but im not too good at using my ring or pinkie fingers. They feel slow compared to my index fingers lol, probably just not enough experience or muscle memory in them.

I use all my fingers while typing. I can type all the letters without looking at the keyboard.

I do spend more time correcting errors though, than actually writing out a post !
Things like backing up just there, to insert a comma lol

Funny thing - my wife types with all fingers and yet, in some situations, that technique is wildly inappropriate.
Take for example signing in to somewhere, using my keyboard instead of her curly twirly weird looking 'ergonomic' one. She'll carefully place the fingers, make a mistake, erase, carefully arrange the fingers again and the whole thing takes 5x longer than a 2 fingered rattle along.

Anywhere from one to all of them. Depends on what I am doing.

Typically use a word processor to write responses and catch errors in spelling and grammar. Then cut and paste.

I use hi-games.net - Typing site for increasing typing speed. This site has replay function that it will show the previous top record.

I generally use 8....generally because I sometimes use my thumb also for speedy work.
