  • P.A.C.E interval training

So a friend at work tells me about this exercise philosophy that basically states if you work out for more than about 20 minutes every other day you are wasting your time. To me this is a "sounds too good to be true" scenario. This friend sends me a PDF of a book written by Al Sears (MD) called "Rediscover Your Native Fitness". PACE stands for "Progressively Accelerating Cardiopulmonary Exertion".

After digging around the interwebs I see that interval training seems to be a pretty good way to work out. Does anyone here have any advice for this type of training or any suggestions on routines? I practice Karate a couple times a week and have really liked Boxing with a heavy bag for the first interval and kicking the bag on the next interval (and going back and forth for a total of 8 sets). This is my second week with this style of training and I really do seem to be feeling a difference.

I've attached the PDF for everyone else to take a look if your interested.

Let me know what you think!
