  • Dishwasher Detergent ?

Is there some alternative to the JetDry stuff for dishwashers?

If I used Cascade Complete I don't need it, but I'd rather use a natural detergent.

I don't seem to get results if I do that and don't use JetDry.

I don't know what's in JetDry, but I'm thinking maybe if people ever use vinegar lol or something instead.

    natural dishwasher detergent

I just finished up a natural powder but can't find the empty jar to tell you what it was. The current one I have is by "Earth Friendly Products" it is high performance wave auto dishwasher gel and it works great. neutral ph, chlorine free, caustic free, biodegradable, phosphate free, etc...

So that is the detergent vs. the JetDry stuff?

And do you use it with no JetDry to get the great results?

        dishwasher drying

oh, was thinking it was some detergent. that is all I use and it works great. not sure of specifically what jet dry is. my hotter gets hot in the dishwasher and the heat remains and dries the dishes pretty quick

I'm probably being confusing by posting brand names, lol.

I mean the little tiny container that goes in a place separate from the detergent and gets filled once a month.

I don't find my dishes clean very well unless I use that or the Cascade all in one detergent that is made so you don't need the other stuff.

Anyway maybe I do just need to try different brands.

I know what you mean Jessica. Unless I use JetDry, my dishes, especially wine glasses, end up with spots and residue. My dishwasher is new and I usually use Cascade.

However, I did not realize there was a Cascade Complete. Does this have the JetDry ingredients built in so you don't have to use a separate product?

              Pamela,

Yeah and I've got good result with it. I was just hoping for a more eco-friendly option.

I probably should have tried the one Aaron posted about here back when but at that point, after trying so many eco friendly dishwasher detergents that didn't work well I was really burned out on trying them.

After some time I heard good things about Seventh Generation concentrated pacs so I finally tried them and they are working great

The package says for very hard water they recommend their rinse aid. So they have that too. But I haven't even had to use it.

I've done over 5 loads now and am very happy with the results.

Just prior I had felt too bad about keeping up with the Cascade Complete so I pre-rinsed very well in order to get ok results with an eco friendly cleaner. Now I don't have to pre-rinse at all and get great results.
