  • First time cleanse

I was wondering if anyone had any thoughts for a first time cleanse? I know that there are a bunch of different ones so for now I am looking at doing just a basic flush if you will to kinda jump start things. So if anybody has any thoughts that aren't to complicated that would be great. Thanks in advance.

I liked the lemon/lime juice fast with maple syrup and cayenne pepper. I went 10 days with no problems except the acid in the lemons eating at my fingertips. I should have gone longer and will next time. Afterwards, I did a bowel and liver flush separately, although the liver flush does seem to do a good job on the bowels also. For me, I had to put the cayenne pepper in capsules as it got too harsh trying to drink it with the lemon juice.

I felt it was important to get the elimination processes cleared and moving well before trying to move toxins and parasites.

This detox cleanse does sound very helpful. I've heard about it for a number of months from people chatting at curezone. As far as I know it's typically called "the master cleanse". I am prepping myself for this cleanse too. I think I'm gonna start this cleanse either this friday or saturday.

Here's a few good sites to learn about it. http://therawfoodsite.com/ Master Cleanser Diet Information, TIps, and Advice The Master Cleanse Directions and Ingredients to the Lemonade Diet

One can also do a search for "the master cleanse pdf" and find good info.

Have you tried this cleanse since asking about a good cleanse? I'd be kinda interested to hear about it from someone here.

I've read lots of blogs and lot's of posts on forums about it the past week. It seems the ones that have the most trouble with pains and such are people that have lots of toxins to remove.

For myself I'm wanting to allow my body to remove toxins and then cannabalize on any dead or dysfunct cells. Then my body can be allowed a chance to really heal. Also I'm doing it for more than a body cleanse. I feel like once my body is closer to clean my non-physical part of myself will also clear up and become stronger. I feel that once my body is really clean then my non-physical can really shine. So I'm planning on the minimum 10 days but I have a gut feeling that I would like to go a little longer. Like 14-21 days or so. It'll also be my first fast so I'll play it by feel once I reach 10 days.
If you've made it this far then I've finally quit rambling.

Today is day 10 for me on the master cleanse/lemonade cleanse. I still have a white coating on my tongue so I'm gonna keep going till it clears up. It's been a pretty easy fast for me, even though it's been my first fast beyond two days. The only symptoms I've had are cravings here and there. I've heard that as these toxins come out it brings up the craving for em. I've become very attached to watching the food shows on tv. LOL And I've been collecting lots of recipes from Nourishing Traditions for when I'm off my fast so I can eat healthy foods and avoid the foods which fill my familys kitchen.

Does anyone have experience doing a water fast? I really don't enjoy drinking the recommended minimum of 6 drinks per day suggested by the MC and it's common for me to drink less. But I've been wondering if it would be beneficial to lower my lemonade drink amount per day and up my water intake? As far as I understand it, a water fast is the most powerful way to fast and detox. So it causes me to think that if I drink less of the lemonade drink per day and drink more water it'll cause my body to detox quicker.?

Anyone have experience with this? I'm just getting tired of the taste of the drink and the way it gives me a sorta heartburn feeling. I would just rather drink water at the moment and drink the lemonade drink if I absolutely feel the need to for energy.

            candida?

            White coating as in candida/yeast?

You could load up on probiotics - like an 8 strain combo
to help put it in check.

I'm not 100% sure, but I don't think so. I did a search for oral candida and here's the wikipedia info on it. Oral candidiasis - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia My mouth and tongue doesn't look that white.

Basically I've just got a light white fuzzy coating on my tongue. From the master cleanse book I read it said the tongue will become covered with fuzz and a number of different colors, then once the toxins are out of one's body the tongue will become pink. Then once it's pink you know to end the cleanse. Here's a neat site that uses tongue diagnosis and such for a general idea for one's state of health. Beyond Well Being Tongue Diagnosis From what I gather, the chinese have used tongue diagnosing for a long time to read what parts of the body were in need of care. And then they would consume herbs according to what their tongue was telling them.

If one were to check out that link about the tongue diagnosis my tongue has a pink tongue body and white coating.

Well I just wanted to chime in that I broke my fast on the night of day eleven. Actually it could of been considered the very early morning of day twelve. LOL I didn't follow what's suggested by the book to break the fast.

What I did was drank a bottle of my home brewed kombucha, cus it's full of probiotics, chewed on a few nuts slowly in-between bites from some swiss cheese. And in the process of eating the nuts and cheese slowly I also drank a second bottle of kombucha. I did this all pretty slowly though probably over the course of an hour and a half to two hours. I've heard if you rush into food after any type of fast it can cause discomfort. That's why I took it slow and ate food that has lots of probiotics.

Also my tongue didn't go entirely pink. So I somewhat regretted breaking the fast but I just caved in. "lost my will power, and just wanted to chew and eat something." But after that I began doing an egg yolk, lime juice, peanut oil, liver flush/cleanse and the entire tip of my tongue went pink. I've been eating crap in the cupboards and fridge the past three days though so the pinkness has stopped and I've also stopped on the liver cleanse for those days too. I need to go back to town tomorrow and stock up on some more good food. Anyhow, I'm sure that with a clean diet and continuing with the liver cleanse my tongue is gonna become pink soon. And I'll be trying another juice fast in a couple months. Also I've read from many people that do the lemonade detox that their tongue didn't go pink till their third juice fast. I've even read of some that took longer than that. So if I just keep with it then I'll eventually get all them toxins out.

All in all though it was a good experience and it felt good to cleanse even if it was a little bit. I did get tired of drinking that drink though and it was difficult to even drink the minimum amount. Also the cravings I would have, they weren't strong but I did crave things. I also couldn't help but watch the channels with food on em. And I kept going through my nourishing traditions book jotting down what I was gonna begin making when I finished my fast. So far I've made the kimchi and the salad dressing with garlic. That is such good dressing, I always add a little extra vinegar though, it tastes better to me this way.
