  • Healthy Food Mental Disorder

If you like to eat healthy food, it is now labeled as a mental disorder!

Choosing Healthy Foods Now Called a Mental Disorder - Vegsource.com

I can see that if someone is completely ocd about their food choices and
it runs their lives, they would probably have a problem but this diagnosis is
    simply insane.

This epitomizes "war is peace and peace is war" - it just never ends.

Thinking people are crazy because they want to eat healthy is crazy.

It seems to be the general consensus of the experts to move us into graves as quickly as possible.

Jack LaLanne is 96 years old and works out for 2 hours a day. Just remember what he says about food:

"if man made it, don't eat it", and "if it tastes good, spit it out."

These head examiners need their heads examined.

I don't agree with the second one. healthy food can taste good too. Anyone do not learn to make it taste good and force theirself eating it everyday is crazy. Intentional self torture is bad for the mind.

They're probably working their way up to making it illegal to eat healthy food. That way, they can make sure we get their toxins in our prison food.

          Sucahyo,

One one hand, he probably made the quote awhile ago and maybe it was more difficult to make healthy food taste good in those days, on the other hand he is 96 and can work out for 2 hours a day. Do we really have a basis to say he's wrong? :]

            you are what you eat

No matter what it tastes like - I do believe the old saying -
            "You are what you eat"

We don't. But I mention taste because in Java there are many ancient recipee for tasty, natural and healthy food. Even the snacks are healthy. Although with the introduction of "modern" cooking, many recipee are modified into unhealthy one. Recipee survive for 5 or more centuries maybe gone in this century...

If you ever visit Indonesian fair, be sure to taste and check traditional snack or food.

Eating too few calories is called anorexia, not orthorexia. Anorexia is a life-threatening disorder that can strike both vegans and meat-eaters. The vegan anorexics I have known were in no way motivated by health concerns. Instead, they had body image issues and a powerful fear of gaining even a reasonable amount of weight.

I just looked at the web site of Dr. Steve Bratman who apparently came up with the orthorexia term and started all this BS. You should read the comments by people on his web site. All the ones I saw accused him of being either paid off by Big Pharma or an idiot for coming up with the idea that eating healthy is bad. People are wising up and not falling for this crap. This one is really over the top lameness.

                  One of the comments:
"So good to hear a Doctor is taking the problem of people eating healthy seriously. Its just sad to see people go buy organic food, with no pesticides or herbicides, or GM food, when McDonalds across the street are serving wonderful non-ecologically farmed, meat-tenderized hamburgers and pesticide lazed salads served with a fresh cup of aspartame based soft drink. Yum!
                  Go Dr Steven!"

I knew i was nuts now i have the proof!!

Okay, don't forget if some thing is not OBVIOUSLY bitter or sour, then it only tastes "bad" as your were brought up on western food additives and artificial sweeteners! If we were all in the same house and grew up on 10% meat with vegan vego diets (ORGANIC) then other food would taste "bad" to us me thinks...I am keeping a copy of this report for when ever a police officer pulls me up...

Having thought of this for a while, a good defense would be taste.
don't make all these health claims for the herbs and minerals you like to eat, in fact don't at all mention that whatsoever.
Mentioning any health claims or benefits derived just fits one into the profile....so when presented with the 2 horns of the dilemma, avoid getting placed in the arena.

Just state that "I eat this stuff because I like the way it tastes....it is a flavoring agent". I just don't like the taste of those other things and taste is very important to me.
Look at the extent people go to with wine for example.
                      Another aspect could be smell.
Perhaps it is colorful, like turmeric and it has to be just the right shade to work for you.
It is a food coloring and no that stuff made by (whoever makes the FD&C colors) just isn't the right shade and it absolutely has to be the right color, which then gets into "artistic license".
And artists can be quite "eccentric" yet still be considered "healthy".
This is considered "normal" behavior already so use it.

In other word, training our senses to recognize the good thing as good and the bad thing as bad? That is hard because we trained to love bad food lol.

It literally messes with your mind.
