  • FDA slams chelation

What now? FDA thinks its a good idea to keep the toxins in the body and is saying that chelation causes liver failure and dehydration. Well if you don't follow the advice and drink alot of water, like any good detox, something might happen!

"Chelation can be dangerous and cause serious harm." said Charles Lee of the FDA's division of new drugs and labeling compliance at the center for drug evaluation and research.

Careful, Kiddies! don't remove any of those lovely heavy metals!

Gotta say I agree with a lot of what is in the Washington Post article.

My doctor ( http://www.energeticforum.com/dr-isa...edical-doctor/ ) does a series of test BEFORE I get any IV chelation. This is because effective chelation does put a stress on the kidneys and it is important to check to see how they are functioning so that too much stress is not put on them.

I personally would never undergo any chelation treatment without first having the tests done.

I know there are non-IV chelation treatments available. I am not sure how effective they are (compared to IV chelation), but if someone has developed an effective non-IV chelation treatment since I last researched it, then definitely having tests done first would be wise.

Also in the article the FDA states- "For decades, doctors have used chelation to treat patients exposed to dangerous levels of heavy metals. Patients are infused with compounds that bind to the metals, enabling the metals to be excreted."

It is nice that they are finally being forced to publicly state that chelation is an effective tool.

Also in the article- "The National Institutes of Health is sponsoring a large study to test whether the chelation agent EDTA is safe and effective for people 50 and older with heart disease. The theory is that EDTA chelation might work by removing calcium in fatty plaques that block arteries, by lowering cholesterol levels or by reducing inflammation in the arteries and improving blood vessel function. None of the ideas has been well tested in scientific studies. The results of the NIH study are expected in 2012."

Too bad it will be another couple of years...That chelation does work by removing calcium in fatty plaques that block arteries, by lowering cholesterol levels or by reducing inflammation in the arteries and improving blood vessel function has been known for decades.

I personally know dozens of people that were scheduled for surgery because of blocked arteries, that instead of surgery had chelation treatments and it unblocked their arteries and they are fine now...with NO surgery needed!!!

You can read about a bunch of them HERE
