I heard that glasses like the ones worn here

actually function as sunglasses because they work like polarized glasses do.
Anyone tried any on? Know if they are good/bad for eyes?
I had a pair of polarized glasses before. The lenses just looked regular but when you wore them they blocked glare on water, the road, etc.
(And if you turned your head sideways they wouldn't block glare from straight surfaces. The stripes inside (not visible or barely visible) could only block light waves in one direction and of course they picked to block horizontal glare - the kind you usually get because the sun is above and the ground appears flat.)
