Does anyone know about the effects of radiation in growing cultures of spirulina? If the food/minerals/water are contaminated, does the alge itself also become contaminated?

I know spirulina helps detox radiation, so I'm growing it.

Because I don't know the answer, I think the trick is finding the right source of local nutrition for the cultures.

Does anyone know if there are ways to detox seawater? The ocean is full of minerals, but I don't know if they are suitable, or also radioactive.

I also have heard HHO can be used to detoxify radiation. I'm not sure if I heard something about a thermite "pop" on a large, spent nuclear reactor rod to remove most of the radiation -- or if it was simply burning the HHO flame at the radioactive substance to neutralize the radiation. Anyone have information on either HHO + radiation, or detoxing seawater?
