this one came out a bit grainy because the settings were not right ..lol. still learning.

I photograph Nature, because the times when I've been really "down" in life it has been going out in Nature that has lifted my spirits.

I really wanted this photograph, it made me about 2 mins later for a CEM meeting Lol. I asked the bull to turn his head to the light, from where he was eating. I love this pic the light was magic and this little guy was gorgeous.

Beauty, through the lens of beholder.

                      Hello Enerjette S.J, well...
                      Hmmm...
Umm...Crikey you are so full of surprises, turn my back for a minute and...well so that’s the tip of your iceberg then ?

You say that when you're feeling down, you take a walk into nature...wow what a infinitely inspiring resource you have on your doorstep. (well…within driving range then)

When life seems mundane it does make good sense to go out onto nature to get back in tune, but to enter that world you must first find the clues, the gateways, all around you in all shapes an hues, it comes as a feeling, that you sense from within, as you fix on a flower, and so it begins……

Gee you must have fun capturing those feelings, pictures read both ways, we see where you’re at. When nature complies an you’re in sync.. WoW what a feeling.

We get it with the sunset, time does stands still

On golden pond, how long did you stay there for?

The pony, the split second you’re both aware of each other, that moment you feel with your heart, your breath, as for the pony…stays calm, between curiosity and flight, he reads you well. Had this moment not happened the way it did…. there would have been a shot of blur and dust!

The raptors are stunning, as your all your attention is focussed on them though the lens, every minute detail, you see their eyes, 1 on 1 it’s as if you can see right through each other, amazing, exciting, almost frightening. I don’t now how close you were or the distractions around but in the moment…he he you had fun. We relate.

Thanx so much for bringing them back for us to enjoy. Your intenion when taking those shots is perfectly clear. we are inspired.

Take your imagination for a walk again sometime soon, and as you tune in make sure you have your camera with you. Beauty, through the lens of beholder.

Huh, what a trip and I didnt even leave my chair.

Much Gratitude So when do we see the rest of the iceburg?

                      Joel,

The other thing I wanted to share is my son's music. My older son Gabriel is a singer/songwriter living in Boston. His music is truly magical and has its own healing properties. Please visit his youtube site at YouTube - Broadcast Yourself. or his MySpace site at MySpace.com - Gabriel Mireles - BOSTON, Massachusetts - Acoustic / Indie / Folk Rock - www.myspace.com/gabrielmireles and pass the word along to others. We are working on his first CD and a website and are very proud of him.

                            Thank you

Thank you! I'm so pleased you enjoyed them. Nature is so wonderful and uplifting at just the right times. Somehow it "knows" and sends all kinds of things to cheer up. And I've always felt right at home in the middle of nowhere, with just the animals for company. This is why I loved the link DeAnn posted of animal totems and their meanings

Maggie - your encouragement and kindness has totally turned me around, thank you so much for helping me

Sharyn - Thank you! I'm glad the animals essence leapt out at you, that's what I'm aiming for. That's useful f/back

                            Thank you Keoi!

Vineyard Nancy - thank you! I'm glad you liked them all!! Your encouragement (and smilies!) are just awesomely uplifting!

Joel - wow! I spent all last night late contemplating your other writings lol (more to come ) and now this. You already know, but you too are an iceberg my friend! SO intuitive it's blown my socks off! thank you.

I can access remote lands after a 10- 15 min car trip. It started off as just getting away from other people. Turned into a wonderful experience. I operate on a sensitive subtle level, and I've discovered so does nature. I'm more in tune with the wilderness than in a group of others. That's really "my home" I'm sharing Animals are accepting and friendly of subtle loving energies at least I first knew this as a vet nurse, I felt a bond with each animal, and also felt the other side of their problems so it was a double edged sword working there. However! there's nothing like the wilderness to inspire & encourage to go back to basics & release tension. I literally feel it all drop away after seconds of getting out of the car.

The golden pond pic came after intending getting some great sunset shots. I drove to the lakes and there it was, I literally got out of the car, took the pics and moved on. It was over within 10 mins. Since getting the camera in the Spring, I've been on "sunset watch". I can see the sun starting to dip from the house & I know a good one from how it's looking an hour before now lol. This one was a doozy. Everything was floodlit gold. My favourite part of the sunset is that.

You're right about the pony! She's the lead mare, and that pic was taken when I first discovered that area she didn't know me. I've spent most of the Summer exploring this area which is completely deserted, and discovered two ancient oak trees with great dry mossy seats. (Maggie calls them grandma trees, I love that!) I've read the whole "Conversations with God" books up the trees with the ponies at my feet dozing or grazing! I can untangle their manes with my fingers and scritch their necks. We've even blackberry picked as a bunch lol.

The raptors were a special treat for me to be in such close proximity. Sad they're tethered, I'd prefered them to be free...
They are at a hawking centre, and I'd just got the camera so it's really my first time out. I was so blown away with the clarity at first I found it hard to believe they were mine Sometimes I look at them now & wonder who took them lol. Ok, so there were only about 5people at the centre, so had the place to myself almost (beauty of going in the day during working hours) the birds were all reacting to each other. The tawny eagle is wanting to catch the chickens. That's why he's laser focused. I spent a several minutes with each bird, very close. Just out of range of their tethered ropes so I knew I was safe, and I inched closer so they got used to me gradually. In all the pics they've got to the stage of forgetting I'm there, I've been so still and quiet. Then, they acted normally and I could send them picture messages. I also send all the animals love, which is why I am sure they let me get so close to them in the first place, I'm just genuinely over the moon to spend time with them. The raptors are beautiful, powerful birds. I came away enthralled with their energy.

Grace - you're right this is an amazing and powerful thread! Thank you for showing me it.

I was very lucky to get this camera. I intended for a year straight and there it was. But you don't need a decent camera to take nice shots. Some of my favourites I took with my mum's cheap 2 pixel camera she got for next to nothing. It has no focus, barely an strength, yet still if take your time and communicate with nature you'll get just as good shots. it's the essence that comes through then, rather than clarity.

I'll post some of those later if you like

Thank you everyone. I appreciate your comments, it means a lot that you enjoyed them that is why I take them.

eta: I just want to add that the only pictures I am not up close is the calf pics. I am many feet away, because I don't want to get close to baby animals. Although mum is placid nearby, I don't want to add any stress to them so that is zoomed in to the max!

I fell in love with one of Pamela's paintings of a hibiscus flower the second I laid eyes on it.

I now have a beautiful print of it in my living room and I just have to say the environment there is much improved. I just bask in its glow!!

Pamela, I wondered if you had any interesting words on the left brain right brain things for those of us without so much experience in creating art images.

I am thinking of a book I once studies about about using the right side of the brain in drawing.

It helped me sooooooo much understand how not to just draw a circle for a person's face but to really LOOK at the lines and recreate them.

For example, one of the exercises was to take a piece of paper and crumple it up and draw that.

You really are forced in that situation to follow the real lines and not use shapes you normally associate with object, like a square for a house.

Anyway it vastly vastly improved my drawing ability which was very rudimentary at the start.

I do not create images a lot now but at least I am better at it than I used to be

                              XO Jessica
