    Hi Tim!

I am amazed at how much more beautiful the "Holy Hand Grenades" are in person! I am incredibly grateful that you sent them to me, and I will cherish them. My Daughter Sophia, wanted me to tell you, that she also loves them and how beautiful they are! You are an Angel! Thank YOU!

    • I'm glad you liked them. I sent my biggest one ever made and my two most beautiful. This may sound strange but after making them I did notice some blemishes especially in the big one, but sitting there on your table they look absolutely perfect. They didn't look that pretty when I had them. Maybe your powerful aura is energizing them;-) I swear it looks like the mini citrine is glowing inside and the large pyramid has little specks of light eminating from the lower parts of it.

Okay, something about seeing Aaron's beautiful work inspired me (for 2 seconds) to post some of mine, and I will do it now before I get too depressed to do it!

First, I want to say, you are ALL so talented, I truly appreciate art, and all your work is soooooo gorgeous.

Okay, I used to paint eons ago, then I did small sculptures, then last year, I got into digital photograpy, although I have stopped most of this year, because, well, I have been too depressed.

But I would like to post one of my photos, (I do digital art)......I am a complete amateur, but I like the way this one came out. At the bottom I will post a link to my webpage where I have all my other work, and some of my sculptures also posted.

Thank you for all your talent!!!

This first picture is the original, taken at Westbury Gardens, Long Island. It is not at all good, and very boring, so The Second Picture you see, the black and white picture is what I did to it. It is called, "Dare You Enter?"

            • It's About Time, Val!!!

              Oh, Val!!!

Okay, Honey...I just spent some time at your link looking to your remarkable work and I want to shake my finger at you for a moment!!! Girlfriend...It's ABOUT TIME you shared the artist within you with us!!! I cannot believe you have been keeping this to yourself and making us wait!!! Your work is extraordinary!

The sculptures are beautifully crafted and delightfully charming... They evoke the emotional response of innocence, warmth, nurturing and love. I feel that this is your inner child making a precious statement of recognition of itself...

And then, when I looked to your pics, I discovered that your artistic eye is not only keen in its understanding of composition and light, but they cause the viewer an assortment of meaningful aesthetic responses. Many of the pics posess a haunting and mysterious quality, provoking internal questions from the viewer and this quality shows the evidence of your personal intensity and passion as a human being and artist. The ones of your beautiful Dani caused my heart to open as they clearly indicate the deep love and joy that she has brought to your life. Being an animal lover, I can truly identify with this, so my appreciation for those images is huge!

Another thing that moves me are your titles. They enhance the thought provoking quality of your work and allow for even more pause and reflection from the viewer... Wonderful stuff, my friend...Simply Wonderful!

Dear Val...I want to for sharing your exquisite work with us. I would LOVE to see more of your work and I hope that you will consider the idea of revisiting this artistic passion and intensity within you. It is a gift that is meant to be used and shared and I think that if you do, you will begin to discover and joyously appreciate the remarkable Blessing that IS YOU

              With MUCH Love and Gratitude,

                Great work Val!!

You have quite a wide range of talents on that page.

Grace honors me with her kind words about my pics.
I take a lot of pictures and sometimes get lucky and
some turn out decent. I really do love taking pics
but don't feel I have much of an artistic eye.

I see you had darkroom experience. My dad had all
the equipment for doing both color and b/w and
around the 9th grade, I setup all the b/w stuff in
in my bedroom and turned it into a darkroom. It
was a great experience. I just thought it was really
neat to snap a picture and end up with an actual
black and white print on paper knowing that I
did all the steps in between too. Pretty cool!
                Sincerely,
                Aaron Murakami

                    OMG!!! AARON!!!

Oh, Honey!!! I didn't see these gorgeous pics of yours here before I posted to Val!!! Don't think for one minute that I would forget about you, okay? But... I did see them before when you posted them in the "General Discussion" forum awhile back and I loved them then as much as I love them now!!! You know...You should have posted them here in the first place! (Geesh...what were you thinking?) But I am happy that Grace managed to find them and put them in their proper place! Thanks, Grace!!!

I know that because you can't draw a stick figure that you don't think of yourself as an artist, but these pics prove that thought WRONG!!! I'm still wondering if you might consider letting me use one of those sunflowers as a reference pic for a painting...

Not to be a slavedriver , but you really should take some time off now and then from some of the many projects you got going on to make some more pics and share them with us! Think about that, okay, Honey? And next time, please put them HERE rather than the "General Discussion" forum!!!

                      • Pamela, Aaron, Glenn

Hi Pamela, Aaron and Glenn! Thank you so very much for your kind words. I am in awe of all the talent I see here from this thread, and feel humbled to include mine.

Pamela......I KNOW that inside me the artist is BURSTING to come out again, but I have "issues" with it, that I don't have the faintest Idea of how to overcome......that may sound weird but it is true. That is partly why I haven't done much of it in the last several years. I know, sounds bizarre, ......I know I want to do it, but I can't get myself to, because of these "issues" I have with it.

Aaron, I did really like doing the darkroom thing, but I had to give that up because the only darkroon in the city that I had access to, had really bad ventillation, and the chemical smells started to make me really sick. And, in my living conditions, it really doesn't work to set up a darkroon for myself, much less the expense of that kind of thing. So I gave it up. That is why, almost 2 years ago, hubby got me a DIGITAL camera, which does solve the whole chemicals issue.

                        Aaron, you are TALENTED
!!! I wouldn't say that if I didn't mean it. You can tell from my posts that I say what I think. If I thought otherwise, I would keep quiet. I believe EVERYONE is an artist, and as Pam posted, that you think that because, "you can't draw a stick figure", you aren't an artist. BAH!!!! I hear that SO MUCH, and I can assure you that 99% of artists are more inclined to certain areas of art than others......It is EXTREMELY RARE to find an artist who can do every type of art. I can do cartooning, painting, sculpture, certain kinds of photography, (I am lousy at lighting) but I simply never got the hang of painting or drawing portraits. My portrtraits were all crap!!! I just accept that fact. Your photography is really, really good. You like my work? Well, I cannot get the kind of detailed, close up shots that you have posted here. But I am still an artist, we just have different strengths, perhaps. I personally believe that everyone is an artist, and if they think they aren't they just haven't found the right area of art that they feel comfortable with. (if they are interested)
Don't label yourself because you can't draw a stick figure!!!! That doesn't matter!!!!!!!!!

I know this was a bit rambling, I am just trying to tell you the truth of my personal opinion, and I really mean it. You are really good!!!

I am sure everyone here on this thread would agree with what I say, if my ramble didn't make them fall asleep!!

                        Glenn, thank you so much!!

                        • Hi Glenn!

                          Hi Dear Glenn!

I'm so glad you like the new painting! I'm working on the next and having much fun with it!

And yes...That is my dear friend Frank. He has been quite successful as a commercial photographer, but he LOVES to create fine art pics, so he is very excited about his new website that focuses on those. And now that he is getting older, he is making it a point to find the extra time to create even more fine art pics which he continues to add to his new site.

He gave me a call last week on his way home from a photo-shoot in Upstate New York and was all excited to tell me about about his newest creation... All his life he has LOVED Lucille Ball and while on this trip to NY, he passed through her birthplace and stopped by to visit her grave-site... Frank also has this strange attraction to graveyards , so you can only imagine how this little photo-op adventure rocked his world!

Here's the pic which is titled "I Love Lucy": Enjoy!

                              • Oh Val!!!!

Oh Val, I have to tell you I have been meaning to tell you this for a week I think... I stumbled onto your site from another link... But my darn computer kept shutting down on me because the power cord was damaged when Izzi tripped over it and my battery was old and weak! I got the new cord and battery today, and it was free! I know this time the post will not go away before I hit submit!

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE YOUR ARTWORK! Trust me I do know what it is like to be depressed and not want to paint! When I was married, my now x husband was always putting me down and nothing was ever good enough. He had stolen my whole identity (well I let him ). The hardest thing for me was to start all over again. I had to buy all new art supplies to start, and that meant stealing money from the little bit he gave me to buy them, and then lying to him about them. I would tell him I spent less than I did! It was the best thing I did for myself as far as getting out of the depression. Some of those early paintings really expressed how I felt! Some of them I never finished, but were filled with anger, and pain! It was a way for me to express how I felt, especially since I was not allowed to speak how I felt at that time. Some of the paintings were so filled with anger towards him I would hide them when he was around.

I do understand how hard it is to start, but if you can bring yourself to do it... I would suggest you use your art to express where you are at this moment. It sounds like you have a very supportive Husband, so that is soooo awesome!

Your art is totally fantastic! You are amazing! I am an illustrator girl, and find Photoshop very confusing and difficult! I can do it, but it not easy, and I can not do what you do with your digital work. You are as good as any pro I have seen with what you do! Claim it Girlfriend!
