Thought that title might catch your attention - and this is no joke or parody. If you are even considering attending a cancer clinic you must read this entire article.
My wife Jeanie hurt her back this past January (2011). By May she couldn't walk or barely stand up. Turned out she had a fractured vertebra disc which was caused by cancer which had metastasized from her breast. She had no prior symptoms - no weight loss, no fatigue, no ill feelings. She did, however, have a lump in her breast which had begun to give her some discomfort a few months prior. Her doctor examined her in March (2011) and he felt it was just a cyst. Jeanie has had cysts since she was a teenager - they would come and go; some would give her a little problem, most did not.
We visited a spinal surgeon on May 24th and they insisted she be admitted to the hospital immediately. A biopsy taken the hours before the first of her two surgeries was positive for cancer.
While working on building a natural health website, Jeanie came across an article in The Well Being Journal that talked about a cancer in Mexico that used alternative methods to cure cancer.
Being disappointed with western medicine from several prior experiences, she actually became excited that someone was doing the 'right thing.' Little did we know that she would be in need of their services, let alone so soon. Their website touted a proprietary, all natural injection - developed by the head doctor - that halted cancer, especially metastasized cancer (for whatever reason, he did not feel Jeanie was a candidate for this, but could not really explain to us why).
Before her surgery, Jeanie expressed her desire to go to this clinic in Mexico: Hope4Cancer. While she was completely sedated in the hospital, I contacted them and began making arrangements to get her there as soon as she physically able. I was blessed (and lucky) enough to raise the $28,500 admission fee within two months (we had only about two grand of our own at the time).
Everyone at the clinic was extremely nice, caring, and helpful. Jeanie was exposed and introduced to many natural forms of cancer therapies. The blood flow to her breast tumor and lymph tumor actually decreased by 70 and 80%, respectively. After two weeks of treatments and supplements, we were sent home with two devices (an ultrasound machine and a hand held near infrared laser).
Two and a half months later, this week to be precise (the first week of Nov 2011), Jeanie had actually gotten weaker, her tumors have not changed, and she is down to 90 pounds (her normal weight is 116 pounds). She has also been feeling that the supplements just are not working - at least as fast she wants. So we decided to do some more research and incorporate some other protocols, specifically the Budwig Protocol after reading an enlightening book by Bill Henderson entitled How to Cure Almost Any Cancer at Home for $5.15 a Day. After just two days she is already feeling much better. It has truly been amazing turnaround.
The Budwig Protocol explains how to use cottage cheese and flax oil as a staple (you have to learn how to make the mixture properly or it will be detrimental to healing), amongst other things. Bill Henderson's book explains how to incorporate additional healing protocols, as well as testimonials from others around the world explaining what has worked for them (in addition to his protocols) to cure their cancers.
Interestingly, Jeanie introduced flax oil to our diet last week and she has been craving cottage cheese for some reason. Five days ago, a friend sent us a link to a book that explains the Budwig Protocol and actually bought it for us. I went shopping that afternoon and that night and the next morning we had our first two smoothies. To further attest to the fact that we were on the right track, my mother sent us a link to the very same protocol the following morning. When the Universe speaks, you'd best listen.
So why am I telling you all this?
The evening following our first smoothies, we received a phone call from a woman who was at the Hope4Cancer clinic with her mother the same time as us. She told us her mother had passed a couple of weeks ago. She also informed us that two other patients who were at the clinic with us during those two weeks in the beginning of August had also passed.
I cannot say that Hope4Cancer is responsible, because they most definitely are not. These individuals were very, very ill before they visited the clinic.
However, I can tell you that there were some issues we encountered with our visit Hope4Cancer that everyone should be made aware of - and maybe all clinics have similar problems - this I cannot say for sure, but it is important to bear it in mind when considering this course of action.
Aside from several minor incidents of not getting the proper follow up after our visit, and a few instances of improper care at the clinic as well, the biggest injustice has been the lack of a nutrition plan. The clinic has gone through several chefs this past year or two. We did not eat properly all the time at the clinic, nor were we taught what to eat when we returned home. Furthermore, we were fed certain foods at the clinic which we were later told were big 'no-nos.' I believe this lack of information (and contradictory information) led to Jeanie's weakened condition and weight loss, which of course directly affects her healing capacity.
Furthermore, we incurred additional costs at the clinic and our home care costs for the 'prescribed' supplements were more than we had anticipated. Neither of these expenses were clearly explained to us before or during our stay at the clinic.
Many of our fellow patients begged and borrowed (as did we) to get there. Then to learn that it would cost almost another two thousand each month thereafter was a disheartening blow to our enthusiasm, as well as our budget. We simply cannot afford it. Also, since there is no nutritionist on staff at Hope4Cancer we were advised this week to find a nutritionist on our own - which we also cannot afford. Yet another reason we are switching gears and trying something new in addition to the H4C protocols.
We will still do the therapies we learned about at Hope4Cancer. However, in hind sight, we probably would have chosen another course of action - at least at first. What that might have been I do not know.
That is one of the biggest problems when dealing with life threatening illnesses like cancer - the many unknowns. One thing we do know is that you have to keep trying and when something seems to work (either a little as with the H4C protocols, or with the Bill Henderson protocols) you have to stick with for at least 3-5 months before you can tell if it working for you. And that is another concept to bear in mind - not everyone responds to the same therapies and protocols; you have to find what works best for and give it all your best efforts.
Now we know what we know. We are still learning and still working toward a cure. Before you decide on any course of action, and spend a huge amount of money - make sure you do your due diligence. Research as many protocols and therapies as possible. If you think you can do some on your own, then try, but be careful or you may wind up in greater peril. If you think you need a clinic to help you, clinics like Hope4Cancer are out there, just make sure you feel good about your choice and that you can afford it. In sincerely wish you don't have to experience any part of your own disillusion and death when dealing with cancer.
