Hi,Wondered if anyone has any ideas why my computer crashes everytime I view my Theatre? It's not a major problem as I can watch it at work or on my partners laptop. It's just annoying. My computer is prone to crashing, but crashes without fail when viewing my Theatre. Anyone got any ideas what the problem could be i.e insufficient memory, stress on the CPU. Any feedback would be most appreciated. Terry

Computer Problems
Hi, I am not really qualified to answer your question, but I did purchase a new pc with Windows Vista and kept it for only one week, as it was
"crashing" when viewing Paths - I understand that VISTA has many problems - I think this is a driver issue.
I now have a different problem, if anyone can help me....
I purchased an Apple computer. I can log into the Paths site with my laptop (which is a PC), but from the MAC indicates "there was a problem with your username/password"
Any ideas??
Good luck with your computer Tezza!

computer issues
Tezza,
It would be best to have 512mb of ram. 256mb is ok but that is like a crutch these days on a computer.
Also, delete all temp files and defrag your computer. Make sure you don't have viruses as well. If you
don't have an antivirus program get AVG at AVG Free Advisor - Free antivirus and anti-spyware downloads
Maggie,
Yes, half the people I know with Vista has problems constantly creeping up with compatibility, etc... From what I'm seeing, I'd definitely recommend everyone stick with XP until microsoft has the public work out what the bugs are in vista for them
With apple, not sure.Sincerely,
Aaron Murakami

Apples & PATHS
PATHS Websites and Theater are designed for PC's.
However, there are many people that are using Apples with no problems. Especially the newer ones that have PC emulation.
Here is an excerpt from the FAQ section on the PATHS website:
What computer requirements are there?
PATHS is PC compatible and works well on newer Apples and on most Mac operating systems that mimic a PC. Any version of Windows will work. Make sure that you have at least 256 MB of RAM, it will work, but not reliably with less RAM. If you have trouble viewing the Theater presentation, either open a new browser and login from there, or restart your computer to clear out any memory conflicts, and then login.
There are a few things that should be checked if you are still having problems:
1. Make sure you are in the PC emulation mode and not in the Apple OS mode.
2. If you are running Zone Alarm, turn it off. We have had a few reports of Zone Alarm preventing the Theater from playing (on both PC's and Apples).
3. There may be some other security/firewall software running that is interrupting the flow of information to your computer for the Theater.
Regarding logging in, remember the username and passwords are Case sensitive.

Microsoft & VISTA
We have had a VISTA computer in the office (for testing purposes) for the last few months.
This version of Windows is a train wreck to some, and others love it.
Our experience has been that it consistently locks up and has to be restarted. This happens while running a wide variety of programs, including MS Word, Adobe Acrobat, Internet Explorer, Firefox, and a variety of other programs.
It does not seem to lock up more or less when running the PATHS Theater Presentation.
Unless you just love the features of VISTA so much that you are willing to put up with the instability of the system, it might be wise to step back to XP until they get all the bugs worked out.
If you decide to stay with VISTA, here are some hints that may help make sure your PATHS Theater works.
1. Make sure you have the latest version of flash installed. You can get it free at macromedia.com.
2. Turn off Zone Alarm, this program has consistently been shown to conflict with the Theater Presentation.
3. Check and see if you have any other security programs running that are blocking the flow of information from the PATHS servers to your computer.
4. If the computer will still not run the Theater properly, it may be a memory issue that can be resolved by shutting down all other programs while running the Theater.

While I have had many problems with my new laptop (Vista Business OS), viewing my theaters has not been one of them (THANKFULLY!!!).
Thanks for the tips though.Blessings on the journey, Glenn
