I live so much in the NOW, that I have to really think back.
It was quite a different life I used to live, counting every carb. Going out to eat with friends was interesting....there is hardly anything in any restaurant that I could order that I did not have to only eat the non-carb portions of.
I went 6 years without eating a piece of bread, a cookie, cake or anything else of that nature.
Even olives have carbs in them.
I was not unhappy during this time. All of life is an adventure! From day one I chose to view it as an opportunity to live healthier, eat healthier and be more aware of my body.
Because of this, today, even though I can eat anything (and do sometimes
) I am much more aware and eat much healthier than I used to.
However, knowing that my body is functioning as it should, and not having such a constant restriction in my diet, That is TRULY BETTER!
