Good Fortune on Daytona Beach Trip

Mary and I just returned yesterday from our trip to Daytona Beach Bike Week.

We had a GREAT TIME!

How does this relate to the Good Fortune and Inspired Luck Module? (Besides being fortunate enough to be able to make the trip?)

This year, Daytona Bike week ran from February 29th - March 9th.

We live in Northwest Mississippi, and have to ride across Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia and a good part of Florida to get to Daytona Beach.

Our schedule did not allow us to be there the entire time, so we chose to leave on the afternoon of the 27th, arrive at noon on the 29th, stay until morning of the 4th, and arrive back here around noon on the 6th.

This was all planned out weeks ago...way before there was any weather forecasts.

The trip down there was sunny and we did not have a drop of rain. The evening we arrived in Birmingham it had been snowing that very morning. But when we got there it was dry and in the 50's!

Our entire stay in Florida was dry and warm, highs in the 80's with blue skies.

Within a few hours of leaving Daytona Beach the weather turned nasty and it has been raining there off and on ever since...temperatures dropped, and as I type this there are strong storm warnings for Daytona Beach. Tomorrow the high is forecast to be 64 degrees, raining and windy!

When we left out of Daytona Beach we had one rainstorm that lasted a whopping 30 minutes, which we waited out under a canopy at a gas station.

When we arrived home yesterday it was in the 60's with blue skies. It is now 23 degrees here and sleet/snow. The roads are iced over!

It is amazing how we missed all the bad weather riding there and back, and how the 5 days we were there, we enjoyed the best weather of the 10 day event.

Would this have happened if we were not on the Good Fortune Module?

Did the Good Fortune Module affect the weather?

Did the Good Fortune Module affect our planning weeks ahead of time?

There is no way to know....however, we could not have been more Fortunate on this trip!

ALSO!!! We got to spend some good time with Grace and Ron while we were there. It was very nice to visit with fellow PATHS Affiliates and be able to get to know them better, do a bit of brainstorming, and have a great time with them!

I have heard stories from clients before that make me think yes PATHS can effect the weather, so I think it did

Yep, pretty dadgum lucky.

Pretty amazing. There is not one day difference that we could have made in the trip that would not have resulted in both bad travel weather and bad weather while in Daytona!

Hi Kevin!

I added the New Luck Module to my Custom! Ron and I were also very pleased after you left, since the weather prediction was very bad, but It didn't start raining till after we had another fabulous day in Daytona and driving on the beach!! The clouds were actually wonderful in protecting us from too much sun and heat! It was another perfect day and a wonderful time!!

We just got back from a trip last weekend....perfect weather the whole time.

When we got back people were asking if we got rained on bad.

We told them no, the weather was perfect. Turns out the weather all around where we were was rainy and had tornado warnings.

This trip reminded me of last year when everything worked out so well on the Daytona trip.

Reading this made me realise something I took for granted...

I'm house-sitting for my sister - and looking after her three foster dogs (long story, major challenge - will post about that another time). I don't like being muddy and grubby and grimey, and I'm finding it very difficult to cope with these three - they're big dogs (two neurotic greyhounds and a lurcher who looks like a staffie) - all high energy - and I take them for their walks through the nearby fields. The weather (considering it's spring in Gloucester), has been dry for over a week. The odd sprinkle of rain, but never near "walk time". So that's been unusually lucky already....

Now, here's what really got my attention ..... On Saturday, we had some friends come over - they live just down the road - about 5 minutes drive away. They told us it had absolutely poured down - rain lashing against the windows, where they live. And yet, where I am - not a drop! So there was no extra mud and dogs-who-vehemantly-hate-to-be-washed, to deal with! At the time I just thought, wow, that's great.... I'm so used to synchronicities and unusual luck now that I don't really register it fully and remember the Luck and Synchronicity modules.

Heh heh heh heh....

This morning when I wrote the post above, it was raining and completely overcast (the first rain since I moved in to look after the dogs) - it really seemed set in for the day, but I didn't mention it because I thought I'd reserve judgement for the moment and see what happens....

I walk the dogs each day, in the afternoon after I've fetched my son from school. It rained all day.... Until around the time we got back from school, when the sun came out, and it was completely dry and sunny for the walk!

See now, if it wasn't for reading this thread this morning, I would have just taken that for granted!
