  • dementia-Altzhiemers reflection....

After reading on the internet of the possibility of many diseases (dementia and Altzhiemers included) being caused by too much acid foods and how 1 t. of baking soda in a glass of water 3 times a day can help alkalize the body to help prevent many diseases plus, many people stop learning new things as they age, my reflection would be...that using Paths modules could keep the brain very active and, along with a healthy lifestyle, could prevent mental disintegration (I think that's a word. If not, it will do)

You make good points. The key to staying healthy in later years has got to be good blood flow, good oxygen flow and a healthy active mind. PATHS can be instrumental in aiding all of those things.

My plan is to stay on PATHS and stay healthy no matter how old I get!

The baking soda, dissolved in water should only be used when your have a high acidity rate - not as a daily preventative. Once your alkaline returns to normal, you should stop taking it - too much is not good for you...

Aluminum (foil, cookware, bakeware, cans, etc.) has been linked to Altzheimers and I suspect (although I am not really an expert on the subject) that microwaves, junk food, smoking (even second hand smoke), to name but a few are also contributors. Heavy metal and other toxins build up and either cut off or short circuit crucial neural pathways.

Staying healthy and active, both physically, but especially mentally is important. Activities like swimming, walking, Yoga, Qi Gong, painting, just palin interacting with people, word games, puzzles, memory games, etc. help keep people more vibrant. If you don't use it, you can lose it!

        Ah, I forget...

Commercial Pesticides are almost all neural toxins - very nasty. (Think disappearance of the honey bees...). There are pesticides on the food we eat (that is we try to eat as much organic as possible), on the grass at our schools, parks and playgrounds. You can contact your local school board or city gov't to get a list of what pesticides they use and a schedule of when they use it. In fact, my son's high school in southern CA included the list and schedule in his back to school paperwork and advised that, with advanced written notice, it would be an excused absence if I did not want him in school on those days. If you live near farmlands especially (but it can be anywhere), there may be pesticies in your water supply and even in the air you breathe.

Back to the baking soda - you can use alternative methods to keep your body alkaline, like eating more fresh organic veggies and juices (fresh is key word here), supplementing with green food (or red food) drinks and staying away from caffiene, sugar, alcohol, soda (pop), processed foods, excessive dairy, excessive red meat (buffalo meat is a great substitution if you have to have it).

Working out (walking & swimming, Yoga, Qi Gong are best) and using FIR (Far Infrared) saunas to help detoxify are also great ways of keeping your toxin levels and acidity lower.

The Doctor Clark Store has some good info, as does the Dr. Mercola website on these subjects.

One otehr cause of heavy metal poisoning in your body - amalgam fillings in your teeth. Traditional amalgam fillings containg mercury, lead, nickel, cadmium and other toxic metals. You can get them replaced with composite fillings - it ain't cheap but it is worth it!

Dr Clark Store (I just refreshed my memory... -- don't read anything into that HAHA) the online store is just - a store.

Dr. Clark's Book, The Cure For All Diseases has some good info. The Gerson Therapy book is also very good.

On a side note, there have been studies that show that almost all cancers have correllations to Candida. If you have a very healthy diet and are alkalized, the Candida can't grow or survive. A doctor in Italy is actually injecting tumors with baking soda to alkalize them and the tumors are breaking down in a matter of days. But then, of course you have to flush the toxins out of your body quickly so as not to cause other problems. He has an 80% success rate and is not allowed to practice in the USA (he joins a long list of successful natural and alternative doctors who are banned from the US).

While I agree with the benefits of replacing dental fillings, people should keep in mind that this procedure could lead to other serious problem.

I know people who basically opened a can of worms by replacing their fillings and ended up with years of dental trouble.

Rhozzi, three things came to mind immediately upon reading your post.

              1. Use of deodorant instead of antiperspirant (which contain aluminum) as well as no use of aluminum in cooking.

              2. Academic Super Charger Module has been great at helping in these areas.

              3. Use of a flotation tank, the Epsom salts leach poisons and toxins from the body.

                mercury filling replacement

Gary, what kind of other problems?

I recently had 2 mercury fillings removed that I've had for probably 20+ years. There is slight sensitivity that seems to slowly be going away.
                Sincerely,

Its a bit of a horror story.

I guess the procedure wasn't done perfectly and there ended up being more decay and infection under the replaced fillings which over time resulted in the loss of some of the teeth and also eventually bone replacement was required.

The person still has problems from time to time.

                    mercury replacement

That's terrible anyone has to experience that! Seems people really need to seek dentists that know what they're doing. Maybe there is some referral network that people have access to testimonials from happy people that have been to competent dentists.
                    Sincerely,
                    Aaron Murakami

Yeah that makes sense Aaron. I have not even thought about replacing any fillings since I heard that story, even though it would probably be better in the long run.

I would have to disagree about the advice not to take baking soda every day.

True that you don't need it if you are alkalized. But considering how much over acidity we have . . . And there are plenty of people who take baking soda/sodium bicarbonate every day and have done so for years with wonderful results.

If our drinking water is too acidic, the air we breathe, many processed foods, cell phone and microwave radiation, it is likely to be a lifelong battle to maintain alkalinity. And that does not even take coffee, alcohol, cigarettes into consideration.

Even mainstream medicine says that it is common for adults to have chronic low grade metabolic acidosis. If that weren't the case no one would get osteoporosis or cancer. I believe the current rate for cancer is one in two people This should be a hint as to how pervasive overacidity is.

I don't think the average person is going to be able to cure their pH with a day, week, or even month of baking soda. Imo using it and/or an alkalizing powder is a long haul deal to really make a difference.

However I am all for foods that help alkalize too

One reason why I take an alkalizing powder in addition to sodium bicarbonate is bc there is a wide variety of vitamins and minerals which seems more holistic to me than just the s.b.

                          alkalizing powder...

I've never heard of an alkalizing powder. What is a brand name of such a product? I take powdered spiriuina and the pill form of spirulina. Is that considered alkalizing?

For alkalizing powder I use the alkalizing formula from Swanson vitamins (online). It has a mild vanilla flavor and I like it in vanilla soy milk.

It does require a blender but I've gotten used to making it part of my routine.

                            Yes spirulina does alkalize
