Which Module is right for....

    Help!!!

    Hi folks,

    Since I am getting my IBS abdominal pains/spasms much more frequently, possibly due to the changes I am making in my thoughts, would the Chronic Pain Relief module be good for me?

    The pain is completely debilitating, and as I type this, I can barely sit here. This pain is coming more often, and I really can't take much more of this.

      I can try to help....

      Hi Val,

      I understand what you are going through, because I was in the same pain a few years ago. I had completely debilitating IBS, among other problems.

      I am happy to share my recommendations with you, and possibly you will want to PM me. I was not using PATHS at the time of my major symptoms because it was not available yet --- I had to go through my experience the 'old fashioned way' and the regular doctors that I was seeing to help me almost killed me (that is not an exaggeration). I have great respect for many doctors, but when it comes to IBS and related symptoms, they don't have a clue what's going on and usually prescribe something that makes it worse. This is not an illness that is cured with pills. After I was hospitalized for sever IBS, the likes of which my gastroenterologist of 25 years in practice had never seen, I decided I had to take matters into my own hands, take responsibility for myself, find the right doctor for me (natropath/homeopathic/accupuncture) and really make the decision that I was going to get better.

      My first suggestion is to use the Just Relax module, which you are already using. I recommend you watch it often - everyday if you can or even several times a day. Stress is a HUGE factor in what was going in my case. We have stress coming from every direction these days and you would be surprised how nasty it can be to your entire being!

      Sharyn's recommendation about removing guilt is very important as well. For me, it was fear and guilt combined I think that was at the root of my discomfort, and until I learned how to let it all go, or let it rest at least, I could not find much relief.

      While your mind and your subconscious (which is strongly linked to your intestines or 'gut') is dealing with many new changes, make sure that you are being kind to it as well 'on the surface.'

      What I mean by this is --- you should be eating extremely well in order to give your body the fuel it needs to repair and relax and also to create the new neurological pathways that are necessary to change your old habits, behaviors and ways of thought.

      I remember that spirulina when I had my symptoms was pretty much impossible for me to tolerate at the time. For some reason, my pain actually increased while taking any green food supplement that had sirulina in it. My natropathic doctor at the time strongly recommended that I keep taking it because of the benefits and detox value, however the pain was too intense in my small intestine specifically (just under my rib cage).

      If you are taking spirulina with PATHS, then you may consider taking AFA instead. It seems somehow more gentle on the system than spirulina to me. Also, you do not need to take nearly as much; relatively speaking.

      Nutrition, including lots of green veggies, smaller portions of meat (and only chicken & turkey) will probably help tremendously with the discomfort. I religiously followed an anti-candida diet the first 6 weeks that I seriously committed to recovery. Iit was tough - no bread, no rice, no pasta, no sugar (and me - a chocoholic ) but it was worth it to give my body the break that it needed from the overload of, well, everything.

      If you are not already eating very healthy, be prepared. Detox symtoms will probably be showing up. Just remember to be kind to yourself.

        Chronic Pain Relief Module???

        Dear Genie,

        I SO appreciate your kind advice. I will briefly address what you say......I am on Just Relax, but since I thought Chronic Pain might help, I was considering switching modules. I have only one theater, and I am sticking to that, so it is hard to figure out which one to change if I need it. I DO feel I need the Just Relax one.......

        As to diet, during these attacks I cannot even eat. I am loosing more and more weight as the months go by, and for the last week all I can eat are bananas, eggs, soy yogurt, a slice of bread, apple sauce. (Not all at once spread through the week), becaue whatever I put in my body will go to the bowel, and cause me agony.

        Yes, doctors don't know anything about IBS. I am on all three of the drugs they make for it, and if I didn't have them, I would probably be dead, the pain becomes intolerable.

        I have noticed it getting worse during the summer, as I have embarked on transforming myself (not just paths), and I had a theory, and talked to some people, who confirm what I think.........that my body is rebelling against changes I am making in thought patterns. A kind of Cog Dis for my inestines (both through my EMDR work forgiving my parents, and possibly Paths, I still don't know if Paths is going to help me yet)

        I am still unsure what to do, if I should try chronic Pain Relief. It doesn't mean I have to do it forever, just to get through some of these changes in my mind and body, and then switch. I don't know if Chronic Pain Relief would even help IBS pain. That is why I posted.

        As far as spirulina and AFA, I tried those and had VERY bad reactions, the only thing I can take is Hemp protien, which seems to be working fine.

        It is great that you have found a way to heal yourself!!!
        I am in awe of you, and all I can say is , that is wonderful!!!

        I need to know if Chronic pain could help, and I would switch with either Just relax, or Positive attitude.

        Anyway, another novel as I sit here typing all drugged up and in between very bad pain attacks.


        I am also considering changing Positive Attitude for Deserving.......I don't know what to do!!!! It looks like Positve Attitude has many of the same benefits of the other 3, so maybe Deserving is better to add in it's place?? groan.......Thanks

          Anything I can do

          Hi Val,

          I am very happy to help in any way I can. When I was going through all of it, I also could not eat anything, was nauseous ALL the time - especially if I ate anything, and then the pain was, as you say, intolerable. I feel for you.... I really do.

          I think the best thing to do is to write to PATHS Admin and ask them about the Chronic Pain module. Explain your pain experience and see if they think it will target it enough to provide relief. Anything to get you some relief at this point.

          Also, for diet, do try to get some info (if you haven't already) about the Blood Type Diet. There is a list somewhere online that was taken from the original doctor's work. This became my bible of things to eat and not to eat when I could barely eat anything.

          Getting back to which modules.... stay on Just Relax. You know you need it, as you said and you really have to go with your 'gut' on all these things. If it feels right, follow it. If you go against it..... more pain. (At least that has been my experience)

          As a matter of fact, anytime that I am going against what my instinct or gut tells me these days, I still experience discomfort. Maybe we just have extremely sensitive guidance systems that we need to learn how to interact with better... hmmmm

          If you feel good about Deserving, then switch out Positive Attitude. You definitely have a good attitude considering everything that you are going through. You will hold onto that. And YOU ARE DESERVING. Maybe it's time to let your subconscious accept that.... PATHS can help!

          If PATHS comes back to you about the Chronic Pain mod as a go, then I would switch out Self Esteem for a while with the Pain mod; also ask them to boost it if they do recommend it in your case.

          I really hope this helps. These are just my opinions of course, but I understand the feeling that you need to do something and take some action to improve your situation. You hang in there, go with your instincts and gut feelings and I know that everything will improve dramatically.

            I suffered from IBS for several years (this was almost 2 decades ago). I did a lot of research on it, as I am sure you have. The medical community does NOT even know what causes IBS, so they cannot really do anything to "fix" it.

            I know exactly what you mean by debilitating. There were times I would just lie on the floor and literally writhe in pain. During these times were the ONLY times in my life that I would not have minded NOT being alive...it was that bad.

            And of course, when your body is subjected to this kind of pain and tension it has a cascading negative affect.

            Your cause of IBS may very well be different than mine...but I DID track down why I had IBS (I also came to realize that stress or certain foods could trigger an attack).

            From what I know about PATHS, there is no module that will fix the IBS. There may be modules that MIGHT reduce the number of times an attack is triggered, but the key is to get rid of it...or reduce it to almost non-existent.

            I would be happy to talk to you by phone and let you know the details (it is way too much to type out here right now) of my situation and how I fixed it. It may very well be a solution that would work for you as well. If you are interested, PM me your phone number, time zone and some times that would be good for me to call.

              Val,

              For IBS, many of my past customers at my store discovered incredible relief with peppermint gels.

              That could be more working on symptoms and not getting to the cause.

              However, when I mentioned GR-8 by NOW brand...those probioties should be one of the first things to do for IBS in addition to flax see oil or other oil with a good balance of Omega 3-6-9. Those 2 synergize together anyway. Some of the good bacteria feed on the good fats to create certain B vitamins right in the gut. Anyway, that is one of many.

              Most people need 2-3 months of regular probiotic and flax oil to start getting more long term relief from IBS. Those will help with digestion in other ways according to many of my customers. I'd use Flax oil with added DHA.

              Anyway, if you're able to eat yogurt or something like that, you could add the flax to that and then take your GR-8 at the same time. Even though yogurt has active cultures, is nothing like what GR-8 delivers. The yogurt will aid with its probiotics but also it is a good delivery mechanism.

              If you like cottage cheese unless you can't have the dairy..you mentioned whey..but that mixed with flax oil will make it much more absorbable..makes the fatty acids water soluble so you will definitely be absorbing it. Enough will make it through to act as a good bowel lubricant and as some food for the probiotics.

                Genie, I talked to Pam last night, and given what felt right during the day yesterday about switching to the deserving module, I have done that. I really do need the Just Relax, as you said, and I really feel I need the self-esteem, badly.....so I will let the Chronic Pain go for now.

                I thank you so much for your advice, and help,and when I am feeling a little more cohernet, I will contact you about how you addressed your IBS.

Right now I am in such a drugged haze, I don't feel up to it, but when I do feel better, I might take you up on your offer.                 , I have enteric coated peppermint capsules.....sometimes they help, but most time, as much as I take them on an empty stomach with tons of water, they back up, and I get the peppermint in my stomach UGH! That is VERY unpleasant......I am on the Now Gr-8 and Flax Oil. I didn't know it would take months to kick in, but I am doing it. I can't eat cottage cheese...no dairy at all. I eat soy yogurt, which has the live cultures, but I know that isn't enough. I thank you so much for your advice!

                  Help!

                  Which module is best for making more friends, attracting more people into my life, feeling more comfortable in social situations, and feeling more included?

                  I am already on Positive Attitude, SLP-2, and Money. I am looking for a fourth module to address making more friends and being more popular.

                            Hi Sweethappiness!

                            While the Chronic Pain Relief can help with this, figuring out the root of the problem and acting from this angle is the best way to handle the issue.

                            Figuring out the root can open up other ways to energetically treat the problem. For example, you may find that the Circulation or Fibromyalgia PATHS can help you.

                            Also, chronic and severe headaches or migraines should be reported to your doctor as they can be symptoms of serious problems.
