  • New module experiment for me: Your Golf Game~Get the Edge

    For a very long time I have wanted to start playing golf and finally got going a few months back. I have had tremendous success on the PATHS sports module in the past so I have decided that next week I will go on PATHS Get The Edge Golf module.

    It always seemed like a tough game for me to get started in because you have to play with others and I never wanted to go out there and ruin anyone's day by playing bad and holding them up. Surprisingly, after starting I wasn't too terrible, but lately I have had extremely mixed results, sometimes doing OK, sometimes playing terrible, but never playing with any consistency.

    I have read up on the "Golf Game: Get the Edge" module and I am very interested in many of the things it addresses, especially swing accuracy and consistency. I will be trying it out over the next few months and will be reporting my results.

    There are a million golf aids on the market but after playing golf even for a short period of time you realize that the game is almost completely mental. The majority of whats available are all physical which I find funny.

    As of right now, my score is far from anything to brag about so I will see any changes being made right away.

    I'll keep everyone updated!

        Hi Gary

        What Fun!! I can't wait to hear how it's been going - although I don't play golf myself (well.... I've been known to have a go at miniature golf ), I've been wondering how this module works and am looking forward to hearing your experience with it.

          ok .... laugh about me ... but .. for some reason, i don't know why i always thought that the "my golf game" module didn't really literally refer to the golf game, but i thought that it referred to life in general as our little golf game how funny is that

          i've had this module on my theatre for the past dont know how many months now .. thinking its going to be a good thing to combine it with the SL series mods too .. well i've been having so many changes in my life when talking about concentration and getting things done ..etc... i dont know which i could be experiencing due to being on this module is that possible ? or does it just address things when ur actually playing golf ..

            my golf module experience

            A couple years ago, I used this module because I was going to a wedding in Concord, Cali near SF. I went golfing the morning of the wedding with my friend that was getting married and his best man.

            We hit some balls on the range then played a round on the 9 hole course.

            On the driving range, about the first 10-20 balls, I hit dead straight and far one right after another as if I had been practicing for a while.

            My friends were absolutely shocked! So was I and the only golf skill or focus that I had been doing is the PATHS Golf module. When I got back home, I had the module removed from my package because I'm not a golfer and had no intention of playing again anytime soon...Maybe in another 20 years. lol

            The thing is, the last time I ever hit a ball on a driving range was in the 9th grade when my father's detachment had a company bbq at the golf course on the base...that was 20 years ago. That was also the one and only time I ever played on a golf course too. At that time, I learned to hold a club...like an amateur and that was my only past experience.

              I have only had a chance to play twice since starting on this module. I plan on going this week, but I can fill you in on my progress thus far.

              I had only been playing about 2 or 3 months when I went on the module, and the last time I had played before that was literally following my mom around on the course at about 6 years old (doubt that counts for much).

              So before using the module you could say my golf game was all over the map. I could generally drive the ball off the tee well (the initial hit on a new hole for non-golfers), but after that things were terribly inconsistent. Sometimes I did ok, sometimes, terrible, so any hole could range between 3 and 10 strokes.

              The first game I played after getting on the module was about 2 days after first watching it. There didn't seem to be a drastic change, except for one thing. About half way through the game, my strokes on each hole really started to even out. I wasn't having really low scores, but they were not high either. Most were either 5 or 6 strokes for the back half of the course (last 9 holes).

              The out of nowhere consistency felt a bit odd.

              The second game is when I really saw changes occur.

              The really weak part of my game is putting. I can get on the green with a fairly low score, but then it would usually take me 3-5 putts to get it in the hole, which is terrible! Imagine your on a small par 3 course and you are on the green in 2 and then end up with 6 strokes on the hole!

              I decided to do some practice putting right before going on the course on my second game and the grip I had been using on the club felt terribly odd. I had been putting with that grip for about 3 months and now it just didn't feel right. I haven't taken any sort of lessons or gotten any pointers from anyone so the grip I switched to seemed to just pop out of my brain. It looked weird, felt comfortable and I went from sinking 1 out of 8 of my practice putts to 1 out of 3!

              From there we hit the course. The accuracy of my putts with my new grip stuck and instead of 3 and 4 putting on each green I was 1 and 2 putting, sinking putts from distances of over 15 feet.

              After my first 2 tee offs I also found a small tweak on my stance that improved my accuracy a great deal. The funny thing is they were tweaks that came out of nowhere and just felt more comfortable while performing them.

              I did not expect the module to affect my golf game in that fashion. Maybe I expected more power off the tee, or something in that regard but finding new ways to hold the club and stand without any sort of interaction with a trainer was unexpected. I also did not set out on this game with the intention of changing anything as far as mechanics. They changed themselves.

              I think anyone who knows the game well knows that if you go out and make changes to things that have worked in some capacity for you, you can expect many days of frustration getting accustomed to them. For me, there was no period of adjustment, just immediate improvements in my game.

              The culmination of the day came on one of the bigger areas of the course that included a water hazard. It was about a 400 yard hole and I was on the green in 2 and in the hole with 2 putts parring a hole I have never scored under 7 strokes on (my first shot usually goes right in the water).

              By the way, the seasoned golfer I play with normally beats me by about 9 - 12 strokes and I have never bested his final score. My second game on PATHS and I beat him for the first time, by 7 strokes.

              I would say the only negative effect from the whole experience was I was extremely fatigued by the 15th hole and I could barely function by 18. I still did very well on the last hole even though I was completely out of steam. I almost didn't make it to the car! I remember being very tired the first few times I played 18 hole but never like this! Maybe I need to up spirulina intake before playing and I know for sure I need to drink a lot more water now.

              I will see if the improvements continue and maybe if I am a bit less fatigued on the next game!

                  Simple question for you...

                  Do you realize you cheated to beat him?

                  Or does he know that you are using the PATHS Golf Module????

                  If he doesn't, seems like sort of an unfair advantage.

                  Were you playing for money? That would make it even worse!

                      Hi Lama!

                      While the Your Golf Game Module does mainly consist of Golf Specific instructions, there are some things like focus, and mind-body connection that are general and could definitely affect other areas of ones life.

                        Hey! for all I know people I play with are using some exercise contraption designed by Tiger Woods to beat me or a Jack Nicklaus better golf DVD, not to mention their clubs usually cost a ton more money than mine!

                        In all seriousness this is the beginning of an experiment for me and I will surely clue in the people I play with and let them know they absolutely need to be on this. I will also probably need to do it soon as the guy I played with last week commented about the incredible improvement in my game from the week before. I doubt I will get away with many more weeks of monumental improvement without disclosing the reason.

                        As far as gambling, I will refrain from taking their money while I have a PATHS advantage, but I will continue to kick their butts a bit, in the name of science!

                        Aaron, If I make the PGA Tour using PATHS, I think I am completely safe! As far as I know PATHS uses only whats already in your body and brain to create the magic, no additional substances, so I do not think they can ban it!!

                          That's SO impressive, and Great Fun!!

                          I would say the only negative effect from the whole experience was I was extremely fatigued by the 15th hole and I could barely function by 18. I still did very well on the last hole even though I was completely out of steam. I almost didn't make it to the car! I remember being very tired the first few times I played 18 hole but never like this! Maybe I need to up spirulina intake before playing and I know for sure I need to drink a lot more water now.

                          I will see if the improvements continue and maybe if I am a bit less fatigued on the next game!
                          DEFinitely increase your Spirulina, but not just before playing - the module is working continually and the changes in your brain are happening all the time, so increase your daily Spirulina intake to give your brain enough fuel to handle the changes. As you say, drink more water... And get more sleep! Sleep is really important for processing and healing.

                          I'm so excited for you - can't wait to hear the next installment!

                              I was just kidding about cheating. Kinda.

                              Seriously, PATHS can really give a person a leg up on things like this.

                              I have a friend that has his high school age son on a Platinum with lots of stuff in there about doing better with his baseball team.

                              The transformation has been amazing.

                              Coaches are playing him much more, his game has improved immeasurably, his team has won many games because he executed a seemingly impossible play.

                              I will try and get the before PATHS and after PATHS stats on him to share here.
