  • PATHS- Module Discussion ~ Successful Living Phase 2

To help shed some light on the different PATHS Modules, and what they do, we will be posting the different Module descriptions in here so that you can share your experiences and ask any questions you may have about the Module. We look forward to your responses!

    Successful Living Phase 2
Harnessing the Power of Attitudes and Perceptions

The Successful Living modules are based on the principles culled from many sources, such as "Think and Grow Rich" by Napolean Hill, Training of Anthony Robbins, "The Secret" DVD and many others.

The success of many of the greatest minds to ever exist has been attributed to these principles. Unfortunately, harnessing these ideas and making them a reality can be a very challenging task... until now.

We have taken these principles, these laws of the universe, studied and examined them, and created this series to aid you in making them a reality in your life.*

This module, Harnessing the Power of Attitudes and Perceptions, is the second in the series and will help you in beginning to create the life you desire by focusing your passion on what you want. You will experience new attitudes emerging and new perceptions on how the universe works... and you will begin to learn how to make it work for you.

By harnessing this understanding, and turning it into your new naturally occurring outlook, you will be ready for the third module in the series.

Warning: This module may produce cognitive dissonance as it challenges non-productive paradigms. Cognitive Dissonance is when two cognitions (attitudes, emotions, beliefs, etc.), have a seeming incompatibility with one another. When one has Cognitive Dissonance, the contradicting cognitions can lead a person to invent new thoughts or beliefs, or to modify existing ones.

When you order this module we recommend that you visit this link to view the Successful Living Phase Two Companion Documents. These documents contain useful tips and a worksheet to further help you in acheiving your goals.

*This is the second module in the Successful Living Series. We suggest that these 3 modules are done in order as each builds on the previous one. Habituating the principles in one module gives you a foundation for the next module in the series.

Who has recently used SLP 2?

Calling out to everyone who has recently used SLP-2 or is currently on it...I am curious to hear what your reactions are, especially if you had just previously graduated from SLP-1.

I am having less cognitive dissonance with this one than the last one, but it is certainly different and interesting. I feel a bit impatient, like I can't believe how stupid I was all my life before this....!

      Belle,

This one was like a cool breath of fresh air to me.

Successful Living 1 started out so great for me. It was like I bought myself luck. Great synchronicities, things going my way, etc.

After being on it a while I noticed some times of feeling uneasy. Nothing bad ever happened but it was like I was expecting something bad to happen.

After about a month and a half if I remember right I heard it is fine to rotate 1, 2, and 3 each month so I switched to 2.

I felt soooo refreshed immediately after watching it. I watched it twice.

Afterwards things continued to go my way (funny how I really take it for granted now, it doesn't amaze me like it used to) but I didn't have the uneasy times.

Now I've been through a month of #2 and #3 and am back on #1. Things are still going my way with no uneasiness.

It's probably pretty personal whatever we experience with this one.

What is "success" to us and what are our challenges with it?

At one point early on in #1 I realized I was consistently driving the speed limit exactly whenever I happened to look at my speed. Funny how my mind must work

Hello.....sorry I haven't gotten back to you yet on the PM, I have been doing a lot of "effective goal setting" lately!

I know the uneasiness you are talking about. I had that HARD the first weekend of SLP-1. I became much more aware of my thoughts and was petrified of all the bad ones manifesting right there on the spot. Then the "noise" just sort of cleared out, like fog evaporating.

After almost 4 weeks, I felt it was time to switch to phase 2. I was starting to deliberately choose my thoughts.

A few hours after my first viewing I had some cognitive dissonance where I started to regret all the times that I have worried myself into self-fulfilling prophecies. I saw a situation reflect my inner attitude right there on the spot, but instead of being a scary experience, it was merely uncomfortable. Then a few hours after that, I wrote down the following thoughts:

When I choose my thoughts based on the feelings I want, life is a lot simpler and more pleasant.

The glass is half full because the Universe is still pouring into it.

To worry is to borrow trouble. There's nothing prudent or insightful and it does not make you intellectually superior to others. Worrying always skews the facts because it is not about present reality, which is always more pleasant.

Focus on what is objectively true, what you know and do not exaggerate the woes of.

Wow, a big kick in the behind!

Jessica (and anyone else who has been on SLP-2 or is considering it)....

I want to share a bit about my latest experiences with SLP-2. SLP-1 seemed to mostly help me learn new habits of thought. SLP-2 is going deeper into the origins of "unsuccessful living."

I have become more aware of the origins of the beliefs that create those thoughts, and have come to the realization that my basic unconscious paradigm was to choose a direction based on the avoidance of pain, which of course, is the most inefficient and ineffective way to get good things in your life. In What the Bleep, one of the experts interviewed (I forgot which one) says something like, "for most people, positive thinking is just a whole bunch of negative thinking with a little smear of positive thinking." That was me.

I'm calling it the negativity module: "I need to do, or not do, ABC, or else then XYZ negative consequence will ensue." Like wave patterns in physics, if you're sending out as many unconscious negative vibrations as you are sending out conscious positive vibrations, they cancel each other out. I've been running at breakneck speed--on a treadmill going nowhere!

Like the fish who is the last one to realize it is in water, I was manifesting things I didn't even want, based on a worldview that isn't even mine, based on the belief that something bad would happen if I didn't. And of course, when this approach would create the very bad thing I was trying to avoid, even if it looked so good "on paper," I would fall back to the belief that "the world is a stupid, bad place" and therefore my bad result couldn't possibly be my fault....it was the fault of the "bad" world.

It is not an entirely pretty process, but I am finally unraveling the negative manifestation paradigm of "Do this-or-that, or else something bad will happen...." I am looking forward to a life of no longer creating things I don't want and then hoping some miracle will bail me out of it.

I'm looking forward to trusting myself, knowing what is best for me, and believing that I can get it. I'm looking forward to believing that the world is a good place. I am looking forward to believing that I make good things happen by doing what I want, and most importantly, that I am capable of easily improving any situation in my life. For the first time I may believe that my life is getting better, and feel excited about getting the good things I've always wanted.

              Hi Belle,

Thanks for your post about SL2. It was really helpful for me, as I may be going to do SL2 very soon. Please keep us posted on any further insights/experiences you have whilst on this module.

                Hi Belle99,

I believe that a positive thought is a lot more powerful than a negative thought. The same way that a candle light in darkness will illuminate an entire room but no amount of dark can take away the light.

I have used 1, 2 and 3. I was on 1 for about 4 months before moving to 2, then I was on that for a month then moved to 3 and then just started over with one, etc... I'm not sure which module did what but overall with these modules is that I found myself thinking more positive thoughts more often without any effort on avoiding negative thoughts.
                Sincerely,
                Aaron Murakami

Aaron: I agree too that positive is stronger than negative. My life, even under the old fear/avoidance paradigm, was basically positive in result, even if the thoughts and feelings were not. That's evidence that the positive thoughts and feelings I did have were creating an overall positive result.

I thought of a better metaphor than a treadmill: it is like you are driving around with the emergency brake on, but don't know it. You're still moving forward, but making it a lot harder than it should be. SLP-2 is like discovering this.

Terry: Another interesting thing is about the worksheets that go with the SLP modules. I normally write very easily and fluidly, but I was unable to write much for the worksheets until I was ready to move onto the next module. I didn't have much to say for the worksheet for SLP-1 until I was basically ready for SLP-2 and I used the worksheet to reflect.

I believe it was stated in The Secret movie that it has been scientificly proven that a positive thought is thousands of times stronger than a negative one.

The Master-Key System is in agreement with the general idea too

I just started slp2 a couple of weeks ago, but it feels like my life has gone chaotic and I don't know if that is the reason or not. A lot of old stuff is coming back and things are crazy, like suddenly I am having car problems and other things like that. My daughter spilled milk on the keyboard and it went all wonky. I am having situation after situation where I am minding my own business but somehow I get in someone else's path and then they get ticked at me or accuse me of something, like someone yelled at me to get off my cell phone, when I wasn't using one. (I was puting gas in my car and the pump didn't stop, gas spilled EVERYWHERE)!! Stuff like that. The thing is, in the past I would have felt stupid, and now, I don't. I don't know why this is happening though. Could it be from slp2 do you think? There are some personal things also that are crazy and just suddenly happening like that too. I am on a lot of mods, I just started slp2, positive energy and motivation and the 3m marketing one. I am feeling a lot of anxiety at work, where I hadn't in the past. I started a new job, I am an experienced blackjack dealer and suddenly I feel all nervous and in the spot light. I didn't feel like that before. And people are constantly 'hitting' on me (players at work) and it just makes me feel even more self conscious. I am ready to quit my job and hide in my house. It's driving me nuts. (I am sort of shy to start with, but I do well at my job anyway, normally).

                        anxiety

                        Hi Stacy,

With the anxiety, I would boost the spirulina to make sure it isn't from a lack of. When I don't get enough, I feel kind of anxious and irritable.
                        Sincerely,

Good point Aaron, I'll boost it up. I have been taking much less, but since I started new mods, I suppose I should boost it up again. Thanks.

                            From SLP 2 description-

You will experience new attitudes emerging and new perceptions on how the universe works...

Warning: This module may produce cognitive dissonance as it challenges non-productive paradigms.

I would definitely boost the spirulina, but would also be aware that there is a learning curve (possible cognitive dissonance) with this Module.

I agree with Kevin that this is definitely an adjustment period connected to SLP-2. All these things are happening to highlight your awareness....I experienced a learning curve too with this one.....hang in there and you will turn a corner....
