I'm in a phase where I am just so pleased with the results I am getting from my PATHS modules...one thing I've noticed is that I am getting results so quickly now. When I first started in August 2008, I would say I could feel things happening, but it took about 2-3 weeks to experience what I would call 'results'. (Maybe I wasn't quite as good at noticing what was coming from the modules vs what was just occurring in my life?)
Is that usual? I would think that PATHS would get more effective as you keep going with it because you are progressively clearing away limiting beliefs from different angles. For example, I was on 'deserving' for a month, and I would hypothesize that it helps me be more allowing of good things that can come from other, later modules.
One module I am really enjoying is the 'take it off' module. I actually tried the ultimate body last month, but very quickly had the feeling it wasn't the right one. It didn't seem to have much effect (but I read somewhere that the more biological oriented modules can take longer to kick in) until the very last couple of days, where I was noticing a small change. But as soon as I got on this one, it was really noticeable from the first day.
I think one of the reasons this module is really working for me, is that it is reinforcing things that are already things that I aspire to, and are a part of my values. So it's helping me just do those things more, and there's a real click of happiness that I am aligning my behaviour with my true values.
The first day I was on it (Sat?), I found myself eating all sorts of things I don't really eat, that I usually avoid. White bread, sausages (normally they make me go ick), chocolate icing by itself! It was clear to me that I was rebelling! By the next day it was switching to the opposite - I kept drinking rooibos tea (I prefer caffeine) and had 2 big bowls of salad for lunch which is not something I usually do, especially in the winter. Neither extreme is how I normally am.
Yesterday, I did an hour of yoga, from a video on yogatoday.com. I haven't done that in 5 yrs. I used to do an hour of yoga almost every day until 5 yrs ago when I got pregnant, and then my partner left right after my daughter was born (and has not part of her life at all so it really has been me 24/7). Not only that, I actually did some more before I went to bed! It kind of blows my mind. I've had a hard time prioritizing my own health when there is always so much to do in mom-land.
I am seeing some small inch loss, and I've only been on this module for 5 days. It's a little surreal. It might be synergizing with some of the other modules I chose - love the looking glass, and young again.
And just on a side note, I think PATHS is such a great option for people who don't have much time, and want some way of nurturing themselves, and encouragement to nurture themselves more.
I've noticed from this module and also 'get organized' that I'm doing the activities not to get to the goal, but just because it feels good. So I'm not cleaning the house because I want a clean house (which would have been my previous attitude) but because I feel like doing it. I'm not doing yoga because it will help me be healthier and thinner, but because it's fun! I love that.
