  • The Secret of the Secret DVD

The Secret of the Secret DVD is that it is all about an age old Truth that has been around for all of recorded history.

Discovered and rediscovered, again and again.

    It is about Thinking Responsibly.

Taking Control of your Conscious Thoughts.

Realizing that Thoughts proceed Action and Action proceeds Feelings.

Feelings are a Fruit of the Tree of Action and Thoughts are the seed of the Tree.

Deductive reasoning dictates that if one does not like the Feelings one is having, then one must change their Thoughts to produce a Tree that bears fruit of a different Feeling.

Letting ones Feelings dictate how one Thinks is backwards...and consistently moving backwards will never produce Forward Growth!

Please understand me. Feelings are very real and should not be ignored.

However, Feelings should not be regarded as a basis for Thought.

Feelings, Good or Bad, are the eventual outcome of Thoughts!

We, each and everyone of us, our responsible for our Thoughts!

Taking Pro-active Control of our Thoughts
(because we are responsible for each and everyone of them) will Produce the Life we want.

Each of the quotes below warrant hours of contemplation to fully understand all the implications and power they hold.

As a man thinks in his heart, so is he.

    Proverbs 23:7

The ancestor of every action is a thought.

    Ralph Waldo Emerson (1803 - 1882)

Change your thoughts and you change your world.

    Norman Vincent Peale (1898 - 1993)

Real, constructive mental power lies in the creative thought that shapes your destiny, and your hour-by-hour mental conduct produces power for change in your life. Develop a train of thought on which to ride. The nobility of your life as well as your happiness depends upon the direction in which that train of thought is going.

    Laurence J. Peter (1919 - 1988)

Always aim at complete harmony of thought and word and deed. Always aim at purifying your thoughts and everything will be well.

    Mahatma Gandhi (1869 - 1948)

    Man is what he believes.

    Anton Chekhov

I have found power in the mysteries of thought.

    Euripides (484 BC - 406 BC), 438 B.C.

We lift ourselves by our thought, we climb upon our vision of ourselves. If you want to enlarge your life, you must first enlarge your thought of it and of yourself. Hold the ideal of yourself as you long to be, always, everywhere - your ideal of what you long to attain - the ideal of health, efficiency, success.

    Orison Swett Marden (1850 - 1924)

You are today where your thoughts have brought you; you will be tomorrow where your thoughts take you.

    James Lane Allen

With every experience, you alone are painting your own canvas, thought by thought, choice by choice.

    Oprah Winfrey (1954 - ), O Magazine

The game of life is the game of boomerangs. Our thoughts, deeds and words return to us sooner or later, with astounding accuracy.

    Florence Shinn

That consciousness is everything and that all things begin with a thought. That we are responsible for our own fate, we reap what we sow, we get what we give, we pull in what we put out. I know these things for sure.

    Madonna (1958 - ), O Magazine, January 2004

The key to every man is his thought. Sturdy and defying though he look, he has a helm which he obeys, which is the idea after which all his facts are classified. He can only be reformed by showing him a new idea which commands his own.

    Ralph Waldo Emerson (1803 - 1882)

Except our own thoughts, there is nothing absolutely in our power.

    Rene Descartes (1596 - 1650)

    Brothers & Sisters,
    Whatever is true
    Whatever is noble
    Whatever is right
    Whatever is pure
    Whatever is lovely
    Whatever is admirable
If anything is excellent or praiseworthy
Think only about such things...and the God of Peace will be with you.

    Philippians 4:8

Any ideas, plan, or purpose may be placed in the mind through repetition of thought.

    Napoleon Hill

My thoughts are my company; I can bring them together, select them, detain them, dismiss them.

    Walter Landor (1775 - 1864)

The universe is change; our life is what our thoughts make it.

Marcus Aurelius Antoninus (121 AD - 180 AD), Meditations

Each of these quotes is looking at a different facet of the same Truth:

We are Responsible for our Thoughts, and to achieve the life we desire, we need to Think Responsibly.

Why did I post this in the PATHS forum instead of the Personal Development forum?

    The reason is simple:
Knowing that We are Responsible for our own Thoughts and choosing to Think Responsibly is much easier said than done!

    PATHS
-Program Authoring The Human Subconscious, is all about helping us take control of our Thoughts rather than being controlled by our Feelings.

PATHS can help collapse Time Frames. PATHS can assist us in the Conscious choice we desire to make.

Part II of this post, about how feelings should, and can, be Wonderful Rewards, not painfully debilitating, will be posted in the next few days.

    Excellent Post

And excellent quotes. It shows that for thousands of years there were those that knew the truth of the relationship between thought and emotion.

    Thanks for posting Kevin

Those are great quotes. I agree that the secret is not new.
Deepak Chopra's Seven Spiritual Laws of Success are another great example.

        Oh My Goodness!!!

I have a feeling that I really mangled this post!

I meant to communicate that "our life is what our thoughts make it."

Whatever we focus our thoughts on is what eventually becomes a reality in our lives.

Whatever we are thinking about, especially when combined with emotion, is what we end up experiencing!

The post is not about feelings, (you'd have a hard time realizing that after reading it ) but about "You are today where your thoughts have brought you; you will be tomorrow where your thoughts take you."

I obviously got side-tracked talking about feelings, because feelings can be the single largest temptation to derail our train of thought from our desired destination!

          Feelings are also guideposts

          Hey Kevin,

Thanks for posting this! Very inspiring.

I'd like to add something that I've learned from Abraham and have found to be very true in my own practice of these concepts. Feelings are actually not our enemies at all (unless you allow your feelings to take you down into more and more negative thoughts) -- but they are very good indicators of what thoughts we are thinking (which we are not always aware of at the time!) and whether or not we're moving in the direction of what we really want. They're like signposts: "am I heading in the direction of my desire" (good-feeling feelings indicate "yes") or "am I heading in the direction of what I do not want" (bad-feeling feelings indicate "yes").

If we begin to recognize what our feelings are telling us about our thoughts, we can then practice shifting our thoughts so that the resulting feeling is a better one. OR, we can do other types of processes, like the "happy place" visualization my brother-in-law taught me -- where we just "make the leap to hyperspace" by jumping from bad feelings to good feelings (and then from that better feeling place it's much easier to think thoughts that are going to get us where we want to be).

For me, in my experience anyway, action is not what creates feelings...quite often it's the other way around. So I'd frame it this way: thoughts give rise to feelings, and thoughts and feelings give rise to actions. Bottom line though, if you're feeling good you're in a high-vibing-attracting-and -letting-in-your-good mode!

          love & hugs

            thoughts and feelings

I have noticed however, that once you start thinking about something that makes you feel bad, you start having an avalanche of thoughts that magnify that feeling. It might be the simplest example of the law of attraction right there, and the most immediate as far as results go.

              sad but true

yup -- sure is, Stacey! Couldn't agree with you more. On the upside though, at least in my experience, after a while of practicing, the momentum also works the other way

                Hey Chansy!

You said what I was trying to say!!! THANK YOU!!!

I have the Emotional Guidance System posted up in several places to help remind me that my feelings are my friends...they let me know if my thoughts are what I really want them to be, or if I need to make an adjustment.
