I read the following on another site....
Pretty basic, tried and true, rule for happy living.
It has been said that “As a man thinketh in his heart, so he is”...our thoughts dictate everything...so often, our thoughts dwell in the past (good times or bad)...it is ok to reminisce on the “good ole days”...and we can certainly learn a lot from our past mistakes...as for the future, it is a great idea to plan ahead and set goals and even imagine what it would be like to attain those goals...but we cannot change the past and we are not promised the future...so that leaves the present...the word “present” has several meanings...two of them are as follows...it means the “here and now” and it also means a “gift”...the present (right now) is a gift...but so often, we spend our time in the past or the future...and we miss the “gift”...the present...the here and now...the best way to prepare for the future is to make the most of the present...the best way to rectify the past is to make the most of the present...today is a gift...right now is a gift...let us make the most of this gift...let us walk worthy of the gift of the present.
