I have been inspired by a number of books. I was quite impressed with Neale Donald Walsch's CWG--all 3 volumes, but a bit skeptical. I had the feeling that the writer was not fully honest. I was deeply inspired by Power of Now by Eckhart Tolle. I wouldn't mind reading it again. What self-help book would you recommend to a person in need of help?

One of my all time favorites is called "Life Lessons for Mastering the Law of Attraction" by Jack Canfield and Mark Victor Hansen. It is full of people's personal stories of how they learned pivitol lessons in their lives, and how they changed difficulties into triumphs. What is great is the lessons can be applied to any area that someone may be struggling with.

Hey
I'd Have to say that Joe Vitale's material is my favourite at the moment.
In Particular Attractor Factor and Zero Limits, I am Currently Reading Hypnotic Writing which is also very compelling, and Expect Miracles is waiting for me when I am done with that.
He is an amazing "Inspirator"
His books are definitely worth reading!
I always stay up to the early hours of the morning because I enjoy reading them so much, this coming from a person who hardly read at all.
I Highly Recommend Attractor Factor & Zero Limits!

I'd recommend Things Are Going Great In My Absence - How To Let Go And Let The Divine Do The Heavy Lifting by Lola Jones. The book can be ordered from her website here:

Busting Loose
There is another thread on this forum for Busting Loose From The Money
Game. Although, it does not sound like it is the type of title that would be
a self-help spiritual book, it is. I think it gives a practical way to acheive
the principles, that Eckhart Tolle talks about, in a simple, easy to follow
procedure.

My recommendation
Hi folks,
I like "The Power of Now" by Eckhart Tolle and "In The Meantime" by Iyanla Vanzant. they are both easy to read and got me through some tough times in my life.
I would also like to share a new publication called "Empower Up". It has a collection of inspiring messages. Take a look at it and tell me what you think. Empower Up - FastPencil. Who is it by? Me. I truly want your opinion.

Hillery is just out right evil, and yes she will spend 4 years tearing down everything good in this country. Unless we are lucky enough to have her impeached within the first 6 months of the lunacy.

that is posted here? I see no conversation about Hillary here and it is
off topic. You seem to be here to promote your canopies that are in
your signature link. What's the point?Sincerely,

re: Aaron's post
Yet another signature spammer. there's a special level of hell reserved for them, and people who don't turn off cell phones in the theater.
There's two reasons why people sign up to forums, embed a bunch of links in their signatures and proceed to post off topic garbage. One is obviously link farming, trying to improve a site's search engine ranking by artificially creating trackback links. The other is to cultivate botnets, where the links lead to pages where drive-by downloads are used to infect people's computers.
Most of them only do this for a "job" because they're too lazy to pack boxes at a supermarket and too stupid to operate a deep fryer at McDonalds. Still doesn't make what they do right though.
If you add a captcha challenge to the new member sign-up process that eliminates a lot of that kind of activity, the rest you can moderate with a stipulation that members with less than 50 posts can't post links. Linkfarming and sig spamming has been getting a lot more common around here over the last few months. Which is a shame, really. Because second only to pedophiles, I rank spammers and google adword farmers as the lowest forms of human life on the internet. If it keeps coming from the same IP, block it.
re: fave self development book. It's a strange one, but I'd say 'Illusions: The Adventures of a Reluctant Messiah' by Richard Bach. (who also wrote Johnathan Livingstone Seagull, which is my second favorite self embiggenment book )
Favorite quote from it, "Here is a test to find whether your mission on earth is finished: If you're alive, it isn't. "Last edited by noises; 02-18-2011, 07:56 AM.“When fascism comes to America, it will come wrapped in the flag and waving a cross.”

Here is how it begins...
"Once there lived a village of creatures along the bottom of a great crystal river.
The current of the river swept silently over them all - young and old, rich and poor, good and evil, the current going it's own way, knowing only it's own crystal self.
Each creature in it's own manner clung tightly to the twigs and rocks of the river bottom, for clinging was their way of life, and resisting the current what each had learned from birth.
But one creature said at last, 'I am tired of clinging. Though I cannot see it with my eyes, I trust that the current knows where it is going. I shall let go and let it take me where it will. Clinging, I shall die of boredom.
The other creatures laughed and said, 'Fool! Let go, and that current you worship will throw you tumbled and smashed against the rocks, and you will die quicker than boredom!'
But the one heeded them not, and taking a breath did let go, and at once was tumbled and smashed by the current across the rocks.
Yet in time, as the creature refused to cling again, the current lifted him free from the bottom, and he was bruised and hurt no more.
And the creatures downstream, to whom he was a stranger, cried 'See a miracle! A creature like ourselves, yet he flies! See the Messiah come to save us all!'
And the one carried in the current said, "I am no more messiah than you. The river delights to lift us free, if only we dare let go."
(ps, the book's not about the creature who didn't cling, it's actually about a Barn Stormer and a guy he meets who's a aircraft mechanic slash worker of miracles, burster of clouds and L.O.A. guru. All fiction, but a great read, filled with so much wisdom and insight.)Last edited by noises; 02-18-2011, 06:53 PM.“When fascism comes to America, it will come wrapped in the flag and waving a cross.”

Hands down the ABSOLUTE BEEEESSSSTEST MOST WONDERFUL little self-help book I have EVER read is a little volume by Peter Kummer, Nothing Is Impossible. Chock full of practical suggestions on how to implement the LOA and put it to work in your life in all manner of practical ways (because what good's a bunch of theory if later you don't find yourself capable of actually doing the stuff, because you don't know how to do it?).
I haven't been able to find an English translation of Peter Kummer's work however, I was reeeal lucky to have stumbled upon a not-too-well-done Spanish translation in one of those New Agey bookstores. Can't find it on Amazon at all. But if you can read German I thoroughly recommend this author. If he were American he'd probably be a millionaire self-help superstar guru by now with workshops that cost hundreds of dollars.
If you can't get your paws on any of Peter Kummer's work however, I would recommend John Kehoe's Mind Power. The great thing about this book is that in addition to the book John Kehoe also runs a Mind Power website where he will answer your questions that you might have trying to put his suggestions into practice, or if you have problems trying to attract what you want.
Finally, well personally I'd also recommend Mind Movies, not purchasing them but making your own. They have made all the difference in the world for me. Now if I have time I'm going to post my latest amazing experiences (alternatively also called miracles!) from using Mind Movies. There are many ways to make Mind Movies, well I don't want to drag on on this post but if anyone is interested maybe one day I can make a post specifically on this subject.Psychic Empowerment for Spiritual Growth: http://www.seasofmintaka.com/

My absolute favorite...
My absolute favorite of all time is the Power of Now by Eckhart Tolle. I have often observed that even reading 2-3 paragraphs of the book make me extremely self aware and calm almost instantly.....
Apart from the Power of Now, I have loved and found Ask and It is Given by Esther and Jerry Hicks to be very useful. The book has such fantastic practical ideas to apply the law of attraction that just reading it again and again is enough to "force" anyone to make use of the law of attraction practically in day to day living.
The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People by Stephen Covey also radically influenced my life as it helped me put into practice things I believed in like "taking the initiative", "managing my time well" or " listening before babbling" I have made a detailed list of all the books I have really loved here: List of Must Read Books: Here's a List of All the Life Changing Books I've ReadI want to help you live your best life.
