collective energy release

Lately I have been believing and thus perceiving in the idea the energy of each individual contributes to the collective energy of the planet and that collective energy effects the Earth itself.
Lately there is a lot of social tension on our planet. Now instead of this energy being bottled up, it has to be released and it has to be released somewhere. Doesn't it make sense that it is released into our physical environment?
I am just posting this now because of this strong earthquake that just happened in Chile. Scientifically I don't know how they explain these natural occurances. Don't they say the just kinda happen?
As far as which type of occurance relates to what kind of energy I'm not sure, but I'd like to open discussion on this topic with an idea that human consciousness and earth consciousness are interconnected, and that the former is more influential of the latter.

My impression is scripture indicates not to worry about earthquakes.
