  • Have you ever spent time in a Flotation Tank?

Have you ever spent time in a Flotation Tank? Originally known as a Sensory Deprivation Tank.

You might ask, what does climbing into a dark box filled with salt water have to do with healing modalities and technologies, sustainable energy technologies, consciousness sciences, or advanced learning methodologies etc.?

Many people have used a Flotation Tank to launch "out of body" experiences, or to connect with the collective unconscious, or accelerate healing and learning.

Spending time in a flotation tank is probably the single best way to become totally unaware of your body and it's surroundings, and have all your awareness focused on your consciousness.

Here is a link to the first company to build flotation tanks for the civilian public. There are some interesting info at this site.

Here is another interesting link: Isolation Tank

Has anyone experienced this, or thought about it?

    Floatation Tank & Altered States

Altered States was a movie I saw when I was in the 5th grade or so and I was fascinated with floatation tanks since it was used in the movie to "go out" there somewhere. I think it was coupled with hallucinogenics or something but very interesting movie. I onlly know one person in town with one and I think she uses it for therapy...she is also a cranial sacral therapist.

Altered States (1980) that link talks about the movie a bit:

"In the basement of a university medical school Dr . Jessup floats naked in total darkness."

    Kind of a morbid movie
    Sincerely,

Yes, I saw that movie as well.

I have always had interest in trying out one of those tanks but I have not had the opportunity.
