I've had several conscious OBE experiences that you all are speaking of, not counting the conscious traveling done while im still consciously present in my body.

1st was after i found out about my father's death at age 8. I have memories of looking at myself in the shower, laying in the tub.

1 was induced consciously with using Mantra Om, having an intention of where i wanted to go, and then letting my body rest till the sleep state started and i exited my body.

A few others while being in a very lucid dream and waking up.

A few with experiencing "other worldly," "other dimensional," or "other being " type "stuff."

And 1 Bi-Location experience where i actually was in two places at once, experiencing two different realities. Mine and

I'm interested in Robert's book. I may have to check it on out!

        Lucid dreams and OBE's

        And to anyone who cares:
"Waking-up" in a dream is one of the tenets of the Hindi religon. in order to find spiritual release. The "waking-up" process allows you, the dreamer to control your inner self, without disturbing your "waking" self. That'll be $100, if you please. Don't want to pay? Well, then why would you ask me, or anybody else to pay for your paths?
Out of body experiences? Line up I'll show you how, or at least direct you to the book. That'll be $500. Even before you are told.
Want to konw why certain electrical charges, distributed along certain lines of the body, both horizontally, and vertically? $150. Refunds not allowed.
Want a "reading" from 1000 miles away? You will be amazed at the generic accuracy of the reading! That"ll be $265, if you please.
Want to know how I am able to project my inner being, give advice, answer questions no one else seems to know, explain other forms of conciousness, and take you on that magical mystery tour through the mind you only thought you knew? Then pay me. Cost 1 nickel.

Half awake and Half asleep prolonging it

Hey about OBE is been experience with this issues for a while, because I had a involuntary sleep paralysis at least 5 times, and want to research from there. Now trying to induced a Obe. I been told you need to enter into a trance half awake and half asleep state. I have been in that trance countless of times but only problems is everytime a became too consicous a fell out of it. Does anyone use a method to deepen the trance without waking yourself up.

            Out of body experiences...

I have had multiple OBE when I was living right. I drink too much now, and don't remember my dreams let alone stay awake long enough. I do remember how to do it. You have to be able to elevate yourself to a dream state, except maintain a degree of consciousness. At one time I could visit my friends and relatives houses. I could walk through walls, fly....I only think this was the case because I didn't know how in that state to say...bring me here or there....so I would fly in the direction until I appeased that sensation of travel and would be there. More often than not, I would run into different symbolic objects or people on the way. Some would be nice and some not so nice. In this state, the more conscious you had, the more often you would win the mind game or fear factor over the other object. You have had a nightmare and woke up right. At one time I was so confident that I actually went looking for bad objects. Anyone can do it; the hardest part is when you are actually leaving your body. You will be sucked back in if you get to much consciousness and if you go the other way too much you forget what you are trying to do and fall asleep. Once you break the first 5 feet or so away from your body it becomes easier. I found that if I ever tried to look back at myself sleeping, it would derive too much consciousness and I would break and wake. Either way, I am no spiritual person just my experience with it.

I had a few OBEs but usually can't control what I do in them. One time I was sitting up on my bed and could see myself sleeping, but everything felt so hot and the room was illuminated in a reddish haze. Usually they come when I least expect them, but when I try I fall asleep instantly.

                Obe's

To runnningrade, Captain Crunch, and Paradox
Out of body experiences are learned, they don't just happen. Waking up in a dream is pretty easy, if your are looking for nothing. I'll explain in a moment. Are you looking for something? or are you looking for a way to seem otherworldly? Understand what you are looking for, then ask. Are you looking for answers to your soul, or the universal truths that seem to be out of reach? Do not use these techniques, they will backfire on you.
First, lay on your back, not in the same place you sleep. Next find your diaphragm, put your right thumb on your navel, extend your middle finger towards your pelvis, where your middle finger touches is where your diaphragm is. Breathe thru that area, not using your chest. Learn that, and you are well on the way to controlling any exterior travelling.
For thousands of years humans have suppressed their inherent ability to interact with "other" conciousnesses. Write down your dreams, or whatever method of retaining the images and feelings in your dreams. Verbal recordings, put it on your Myspace page, whatever. See what happens. You don't neeed anyone to guide you, you need to guide yourself.

                  Drunkard

                  Hey Captain Crunch;
You aren't any kind of drunk. Whether you feel you, or anybody drinks too much, is just a classic example of peer pressure: this society, American, wants to find too much fault with others, never dealing with their own fallibilties. So you think you drink too much, where are the people who care? If they cared, they would stay by your side, now, people are told by by goofy whack-jobs, "If they don't help themselves, then they hate themselves." Also, if anyone cares, you are accepted for who you are, no matter what.
