I would expect that your doubts stem from a lack of investigation. I'm aware that there are people who have seen irrefutable evidence of various things but still remain unconvinced. However, the normal person, seeing the huge mountain of evidence which I have barely scratched the surface of in my readings, would find all the evidence they need to be convinced. It has been investigated and documented forwards, backwards, side to side, and upside down for well over a hundred years. There are many different studies on different phenomena that lead to the same conclusion, and when all put together, form a very complete picture of life (why we exist), death, and the after-life.

Now, we have to bear in mind that we are all messed up. We can't sense the majority of the world around us. Nobody is going to be exactly the same person reincarnated as they were in a past life. We evolve and/or at least change during our time away from the physical, as a rule. Who's to say that the consciousness embodied in Napolean or Alexander the Great isn't now, in large part, in the guy mopping the floor at the local 7-Eleven? How would you explain something like the Dalai Lama if there is no reincarnation?
My reality does not equal your reality, but my reality is neither > nor < your reality.

I look at it through a logical perspective. What is the point of eternity? If we are not reincarnated where do we go? Heaven or hell would be pointless. What would you do after a trillion years in heaven? The fact that right now, we have no memory of who or what we are makes perfect sense. If we did remember everything we have experienced for the past trillion years, that would make this life pointless.

Im not a big fan of the idea of reincarnation but it really is the only logical answer. I thnk the point of life is to experience life. Plain and simple. All emotion would become dull after living one single life for a trillion years. You cant experience anything new if you already remember experiencing it all before.

If everything basically comes to a meaningless eternal end, then i imagine existance itself must be the source, with experiencing emotions being the motive to exist. Personally I think we are god. One single eternal being. With existance being our creation. There is much about life that i hate. I cant stand seeing pain and suffering. I dont understand it. I want to prevent it with all my heart but I cant. I am powerless to stop it. Why? Only logical answer is that if I am eternal and had the power to prevent all pain everywhere, would i forget to remember what its like to be alive. What its like to have something to fight for. So the question is this, if you had nothing to fight for what would you have to live for?

That was my post from another topic, from 6 months ago, pretty much sums it up in one paragraph for me. Eternity is pointless. Being god is pointless. The idea of having power is enticing since we are powerless but power is pointless once you have it. Solve every problem in the universe, then what?

You would lose half of all of your emotions, no more anger, no more sadness, no more self pity, no more anxiety, no more fear, no more stress.

Does that sound good to you? Sounds awfully boring to me. Would you really be alive if you lost all of those emotions?
