    CHAPTER VI.
    SECTION 1.

These are the three mothers or the first elements, ‏א״מ״ש‎ from which emanated three progenitors; primitive air, water and fire, and from which emanated as their offspring, three progenitors and their offspring, namely: the seven planets and their hosts, and the twelve oblique points.

    SECTION 2.

To confirm this there are faithful witnesses; the world, year and man, the twelve, the Equipoise, the heptade, which God regulates like the Dragon, 40 (Tali) sphere and the heart.

    SECTION 3.

The first elements ‏א״מ״ש‎ are air, water and fire; the fire is above, the water below, and a breath of air establishes the balance among them. For an illustration may serve, that the fire carries the water is the phonetic character of ‏מ‎ which is mute and ‏ש‎ is hissing like fire, there is ‏א‎ among them, a breath of air which places them in equilibrium. 41

    SECTION 4.

Dragon (Tali) is in the world like a king upon his throne, the sphere is in the year like a king in the empire, and the heart is in the human body like a king 42 in war.

    SECTION 5.

God has also set the one over against the other; the good against the evil, and the evil against the good; the good proceeds from the good, and the evil from the evil; the good purifies the bad, and the bad the good; the good is preserved for the good, and the evil for the bad ones.

    SECTION 6.

There are three of which every one of them stands by itself; one is in the affirmative, the other in the negative and one equalizes them.

    SECTION 7.

There are seven of which three are against three, and one places them in equilibrium. There are twelve which are all the time at war; three of them produce love, and three hatred, three are animators and three destroyers.

    SECTION 8.

The three that produce love are the heart and the ears; the three that produce hatred are the liver, the gall and the tongue; the three animators are the two nostrils and the milt; and the three destroyers are the mouth and the two openings of the body; and God, the faithful King, rules over all from His holy habitation to all eternity. He is one above three, three are above seven, seven above twelve, and all are linked together.

    SECTION 9.

There 43 are twenty-two letters by which the I am, Yah, the Lord of hosts, Almighty and Eternal, designed, formed and created by three Sepharim, His whole world, and formed by them creatures and all those that will be formed in time to come.

    SECTION 10.

When 44 the patriarch Abraham comprehended the great truism, revolved it in his mind, conceived it perfectly, made careful investigations and profound inquiries, pondered upon it and succeeded in contemplations, the Lord of the Universe appeared to him, called him his friend, made with him a covenant between the ten fingers of his hands, which is the covenant of the tongue, 45 and the covenant between the ten toes of his feet, which is the covenant of circumcision, and said of him: "Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee." (Jer. I, 5.)

        RODNEY COLLIN
        THE THEORY OF CELESTIAL
        INFLUENCE
MAN, THE UNIVERSE, AND COSMIC MYSTERY

For such true 'models of the universe' must not only display the inner form
and structure of this universe, but must also reveal man's relation to it and his
present and possible fates within it. In this sense, certain of the Gothic
cathedrals are complete models of the universe, whereas a modem
planetarium, for all its beauty, knowledge and accuracy, is not
        . For the latter
model completely omits man. The difference, of course, lies in the fact that
the cathedrals, directly or indirectly, were designed by men who belonged to
schools for the achievement of higher states of consciousness, and had the
advantage of experience gained in such schools; whereas the designers of the
planetarium are scientists and technicians, clever and
qualified enough in their field, but claiming no particular knowledge of the
potentialities of the human machine with which they have to work.

In fact, if we are in possession of certain keys for their interpretation, the most
astonishing thing about these ancient 'models of the universe' arising in widely
separated ages, continents and cultures, is precisely their similarity. So much so that a
good case might be made out for the idea that higher consciousness always reveals the
same truth, solely on the basis of a comparative study of certain existing models of the
universe which seem to derive therefrom - for example, the Cathedral of Chartres, the
Great Sphinx, the New Testament, the Divine Comedy, or certain cosmic diagrams left
by the 17th century alchemists, the designers of the Tarot pack, and the painters of
some Russian ikons and Tibetan banners.

One of the main characteristics of modem thought is a contradiction
between the way man regards the external world, outside himself, and the
way he regards the internal world, inside himself.

As regards the external world, he has never been more objective, more
convinced of the universal application of laws, expressable by formulae and
consistently measurable in their effects. In this field, any belief which throws
doubt on the principle of measurability, for example, any belief in
intelligence or consciousness belonging to beings greater in scale than man,
is in danger of being regarded as superstition.

As regards his internal world, on the other hand, man has rarely been more
        subjective
, more convinced of the special validity of his every whim,
imagination, hope and fear, and less willing to admit that his inner world is
subject to any laws whatsoever. The greater part of modem psychology, and
especially of psycho-analysis, has been based on this subjectivity. And in this
field, it is precisely the belief in laws and measurability - for example, belief
that much of human psychology is the result of the calculable interplay of
types, or belief that man's inner world is subject to laws similar to those
governing the astronomical or microscopic worlds - which is called
        superstition
        .
        6 3 9

        follow up:

When we find this contradiction in ordinary life, that is, when we meet a man who
judges the world around him by one standard, and himself and his own actions by
another and quite different standard, we take it as sign of a primitive and uncultured
point of view. Yet when this same contradiction is the chief characteristic of the whole
thought of our age, we call it enlightenment or emancipation. We do not see that it lies
at the root of as much blindness, unhappiness, disappointment and moral bankruptcy,
as it would in an individual case.

        follow up:

Man has two ways of studying the universe. The first is by induction:
he examines phenomena, classifies them, and attempts to infer laws and principles from
them. This is the method generally used by science. The second is by deduction: having
perceived or had revealed or discovered certain general laws and principles, he attempts
to deduce the application of these laws in various specialised studies and in life. This is
the method generally used by religion. The first method begins with 'facts' and attempts
to reach 'laws'. The second method begins with 'laws' and attempts to reach 'facts'.
These two methods belong to the working of different human functions. The first is
the method of the ordinary logical mind, which is permanently available to us
        . The
second derives from a potential function in man, which is ordinarily inactive for lack
of nervous energy of sufficient intensity, and which we may call higher mental
        function
        .
This function, on the rare occasions of its operation, reveals to man laws in
action, he sees the whole phenomenal world as the product of laws.
this is what these threads are all about

they can take any form / Name (as they are also Fractal ):

        THE SEVEN HERMETIC PRINCIPLES.

"The Principles of Truth are Seven; he who knows these, understandingly, possesses the Magic Key before whose touch all the Doors of the Temple fly open."

The Seven Hermetic Principles, upon which the entire Hermetic Philosophy is based, are as follows:

        I. THE PRINCIPLE OF MENTALISM.
        II. THE PRINCIPLE OF CORRESPONDENCE.
        III. THE PRINCIPLE OF VIBRATION.
        lV. THE PRINCIPLE OF POLARITY.
        V. THE PRINCIPLE OF RHYTHM.
VI. THE PRINCIPLE OF CAUSE AND EFFECT.
        VII. THE PRINCIPLE OF GENDER.

        from the Codex of Love:

Seven are the petals of love. Seven are the ways of the heart.
Seven are the principles of passion. Seven are the methods of intimacy.
Seven are the truths of ecstasy. Seven are the pains of rapture. One
is the embrace of Light. Who knows of them, knows the forty-nine
petalled rose of Life, and the seven visions of God.
you can also call them the Seven Angels

But here the great quandary of human understanding arises. For these two
minds can never ordinarily understand each other. There is too great a
difference in speed between them. Just as communication is impossible
between a peasant plodding along a road with a load of sticks and a car which
flashes past him at eighty miles an hour, because of their difference in speed,
so is communication ordinarily impossible between logical mind and higher
        mind, for the same reason
. To logical mind, the traces left by higher mind
will seem arbitrary, superstitious, illogical, unproven. To higher mind, the
work of logical mind will seem ponderous, unnecessary, and beside the
        point.

do you think the 369 method or the Fibonacci Method would work with a Musical Partition

          for instance :

          Beethoven Symphony No.9 - YouTube

          http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Symphony_No._9_(Beethoven)

The Symphony No. 9 in D minor, Op. 125, is the final complete symphony of Ludwig van Beethoven. Completed in 1824, the symphony is one of the best-known works of the Western classical repertoire.[1] Among critics, it is universally considered to be among Beethoven's greatest works, and is considered by some to be the greatest piece of music ever written.[1] It has been adapted for use as the European Anthem.

The symphony was the first example of a major composer using voices in a symphony (thus making it a choral symphony). The words are sung during the final movement by four vocal soloists and a chorus. They were taken from the "Ode to Joy", a poem written by Friedrich Schiller in 1785 and revised in 1803, with additions made by the composer.

          just wondering

Ludwig van Beethoven (i/ˈlʊdvɪɡ væn ˈbeɪt.hoʊvən/; German pronunciation: [ˈluːtvɪç fan ˈbeːt.hoːfən] ( listen); baptized 17 December 1770[1] – 26 March 1827) was a German composer and pianist. A crucial figure in the transition between the Classical and Romantic eras in Western art music, he remains one of the most famous and influential of all composers.

Born in Bonn, then the capital of the Electorate of Cologne and part of the Holy Roman Empire, Beethoven moved to Vienna in his early 20s, studying with Joseph Haydn and quickly gaining a reputation as a virtuoso pianist. His hearing began to deteriorate in his late twenties, yet he continued to compose, conduct, and perform, even after becoming completely deaf.

          3.1.4 IV. Allegro
          3.1.5 V. Allegretto

Symphony No. 6 in F major, Op. 68, also known as the Pastoral Symphony (German Pastoral-Sinfonie[1]), is a symphony composed by Ludwig van Beethoven, and was completed in 1808. One of Beethoven's few works containing explicitly programmatic content,[2] the symphony was first performed in the Theater an der Wien on 22 December 1808[3] in a four hour concert called the Musikalische Akademie.[4]

              Lascaux, France.

              Lascaux Cave: (Palaeolithic Cave-art).

Lascaux contains some of the best-known Upper Palaeolithic art. These paintings are estimated to be around 17,300 years old. (1) They primarily consist of primitive images of large animals, most of which are now known from fossil evidence to have lived in the area at the time.

Lascaux is one of the worlds richest examples of cave-art with over 1,500 engravings and 600 drawings having been documented. The Vézère valley in which Lascaux is found contains 147 prehistoric sites dating from the Palaeolithic and 25 decorated caves. (1)

              another sacred book
              -----------------------

              Chauvet cave, France.

Discovered in 1994 in the valley near France's Ardeche River, the Chauvet Cave contains the oldest such paintings on record (some of them 32,000 years old), almost perfectly preserved when collapsing rocks sealed off the entrance some 25,000 years ago.

The art is the oldest recorded cave-art in the world and is surprisingly extensive, highly varied, and very skilfully executed, it includes species now extinct such as the Megaceros (Right).

              The Chauvet 'Venus':

The last and deepest of the Cave chambers, the Salle du Fond, is the home of the Chauvet Venus. From the ceiling of the chamber, which is nearly 7 m [20 feet] high, a vertical cone of limestone hangs down ending in a point 1.10 m [3ft 6 ins] off the floor. It is on this hanging outcrop that the Venus was drawn in black charcoal.

The black pubic triangle of the Venus is at eye level and seems to be the heart of the composition. It is shaded in with black pigment. The white vulva slit appears to have been done later with a pointed tool and is clearly indicated by a vertical line incised strongly enough to cut through both the black pigment and the yellow surface film of the rock. The legs, with plump thighs, finish in a point with the feet not shown. This Venus is absolutely classical and her proportions, the stylistic elements, the selection of the anatomical elements shown are all characteristically Aurignacian or Gravettian, as known from the small Venus statues of Central and Eastern Europe. The Venus is not isolated. Other lines and realistic representations are associated with her, directly on the outcrop. Higher and to the left of the Venus are two felines, a mammoth and a small musk ox. To the right of the Venus is the "Sorcerer" or man-bison. The relation of the Venus to the Sorcerer cannot be simply fortuitous. The Venus is the earliest of the designs. The feline on the left, the Sorcerer, and the multiple lines on the right, are all painted or engraved later. Their creation entailed a voluntary and selective local destruction of parts of the body of the Venus, the most obvious spot being at one of the upper extremities of the pubic triangle. Even more surprising is the voluntary absence of any super imposition. Neither the Sorcerer nor the large feline on the left cut across the Venus.

The Venus and the composition in which she occupies a privileged place are in a central topographic situation in the Salle du Fond. However, she is paradoxically peripheral in the over all design that seems centred on a beautiful horse lodged in a small chapel like niche to the left in the middle of the main panel of cave paintings. Perhaps the female representation relates directly to the corridor to the chamber, which opens just behind her. Four other female representations limited to just the pubic triangle are in the cave; they are all in the system including the Galerie des Megaceros and the Salle du Fond, indicating each time the entrance to the adjacent cavities.

                • this is a great part of the Legend of White Buffalo Woman :

                  Native American, the White Buffalo

The White Buffalo Woman also talked to the children, because they have an understanding beyond their years
. She told them that what their fathers and mothers did was for them, that their parents could remember being little once, and that they, the children, would grow up to have little ones of their own. She told them: "You are the coming generation, that's why you are the most important and precious ones. Some day you will hold this pipe and smoke it. Some day you will pray with it."

She spoke once more to all the people: "The pipe is alive; it is a red being showing

you a red life and a red road. And this is the first ceremony for which you will use the pipe. You will use it to Wakan Tanka, the Great Mystery Spirit. The day a human dies is always a sacred day. The day when the soul is released to the Great Spirit is another. Four women will become sacred on such a day. They will be the ones to cut the sacred tree, the canwakan, for the sun dance."

She told the Lakota that they were the purest among the tribes, and for that reason Tunkashila had bestowed upon them the holy chanunpa. They had been chosen to take care of it for all the Indian people on this turtle continent.

She spoke one last time to Standing Hollow Horn, the chief, saying, "Remember: this pipe is very sacred. Respect it and it will take you to the end of the road. The four ages of creation are in me; I am the four ages. I will come to see you in every generation cycle. I shall come back to you."

The sacred woman then took leave of the people, saying: " Toksha ake wacinyanitin ktelo, I shall see you again."

To the other scout who had behaved rightly, the White Buffalo Woman said: "Good things I am bringing, something holy to your nation. A message I carry for your people from the buffalo nation. Go back to the camp and tell the people to prepare for my arrival. Tell your chief to put up a medicine lodge with twentyfour poles. Let it be made holy for my coming."

Ancient Road: The Magic of Salt

                      The Magic of Salt

Regarded as one of the most powerful cleansing and protective substances, salt has a long history in human magio-consciousness. Since time immemorial, humans have had need of salt and it has been such a prized substance it has often been used as a currency in ancient times. It also has a long magical history and has been recorded in mythology, folklore and old books of magic.

It is common knowledge that one use salt to protect a home or cleanse a ritual space. Many folks who come into Ancient Road know that salt is used but they do not know why. And in fact many of the so called books of "magic" and "Wicca" espouse the use of salt without a further word as to why. It is taken as a dogmatic "truth" and I suppose it is one of the better ones out there. However, when dealing with magic we must know why we are doing what we are doing. There must be links and correspondences and not just a willy nilly "it feels right to me" reasoning. That is the reason I chose to discuss salt in depth, one of the most used and common magical components to almost every ritual, so here is why it is used in magic.

First of all early man realized the benefits of salt in its antiseptic and preservative qualities. Here was a substance that could take infection out of a wound and preserve meat from rotting. Two things that were essential to life before antibiotics and refrigeration. Here was a substance that aided in the ease of life and helped mankind and therefore had magical properties. Homer called salt "divine" and Plato described it as a substance that was "dear to the Gods."

The Latin word "sal" is the root of the word "salt" and the art of understanding letters as holy unto themselves with a distinct etymology can be found in Latin (as in Hebrew) and is a lost art of occult understanding. Therefore, let us look at the magical etymology of s.a.l.

S: represents the joining of two circles; namely the sun and the moon and is therefore like the yin-yang a perfectly balanced symbol of the masculine and feminine energies.

A: (Alpha) is the beginning of all things. The first. A strong indication that Salt is a building block to all life on Earth.

L: is the Latin emblem for all the celestial glory in the heavens.

So we can see a strong link to a powerful occult etymology in the very word associated with salt. In fact salt is of the Earth and in Traditional Witchcraft is associated with the element of Earth often found on many a witch's altar. Earth is the foundational element where the witch stands and the use of salt in modern Witchcraft traces its roots to the Catholic Church (as do many of the modern rituals). We also know that both the aspurging water and the holy water in Catholic churches contain salt. So why then if salt is "of the Earth" and the Earth in Christian reasoning is a place infected with the infernal would such a substance be considered so holy and purifying?

The answer to this is again related to the virtues of salt and the use of salt again as a purifier against decay and as a healing agent. The presence of salt meant the absence of decay and evil. So what we have here really is an example of sympathetic magic used in the Catholic Church and because Traditional Witches practice dual faith observance many of the traditions from the church found their way into Witchcraft. The absence of salt is yet again revealed in the taboos of spilling salt. When Judas (who had an absence of goodness and integrity) overturned the salt cellar in the Paschal Supper this was said to have angered God and created a space for evil spirits to reside. The spilling of salt is related to this concept and therefore is related to Judas and is taboo.

In the "Three Books of Occult Philosophy" written and compiled by Agrippa in the early 16th century we find an important clue to the magical nature of salt. Agrippa writes " ...Consider, that everything moves, and turns itself to its like, and inclines that to itself with all its might, as well in property, viz. occult virtue, as in quality, viz. elementary virtue. Sometimes also in substance itself, as we see in salt, for whatsoever hath long stood in salt, becomes salt." And if you have ever brined a turkey or eaten salted pork you KNOW just how salty it has become. That is salt "saltifies" that which it touches preserving it forever as salt. In occult terms salt is a great neutralizer of energy and space. Salt also has a crystalline structure and crystals have long been used in many magical traditions to trap energy.

In Ozark folk lore it is believed that witches (who were evil as opposed to Cunning women) eat very little salt because "The Devil hates salt." It is also believed that animals who will not eat salt are bewitched. This again goes back to the belief that the absence of salt allows negative energy (and rotted disease) to be present. There was also the belief that if salt got too low in the cupboard or if you ran out of salt it would mean an entire year of poverty and privation. Again by allowing the protective agent (salt) to disappear meant you were "courting" the dark, decaying forces of the Devil.

So now we can see albeit in a nutshell, how salt works magically and why it is important to the magician. By calling the power of Earth, Malkuth, the plane where we are in our physical bodies, corporeal nature is brought into a balanced neutrality so that you, the magician, may work from a familiar grounded starting point. Salt being heavy of Earth and a purifier is an almost impossible medium for spirits to work with and is vitally connected to us. This is why in Hoodoo (which traces its lineage to the Grimoric traditions of Europe, Jewish Kabbala and African Folk Magic) salt is the main ingredient in our Uncrossing baths. It is a spiritual "re-set" button and a medium that spirits cannot cope with. We are also participating in an ancient ritual use of salt to purify and preserve that our ancestors used. And in my experience one need not use fancy sea salt flown in from the bottom of the Dead Sea. Table salt works just as well.......

Platonic solid - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

                        History

Kepler's Platonic solid model of the solar system from Mysterium Cosmographicum (1596)

The Platonic solids have been known since antiquity. Ornamented models of them can be found among the carved stone balls created by the late neolithic people of Scotland at least 1000 years before Plato [1]. Dice go back to the dawn of civilization with shapes that augured formal charting of Platonic solids.

The ancient Greeks studied the Platonic solids extensively. Some sources (such as Proclus) credit Pythagoras with their discovery. Other evidence suggests he may have only been familiar with the tetrahedron, cube, and dodecahedron, and that the discovery of the octahedron and icosahedron belong to Theaetetus, a contemporary of Plato. In any case, Theaetetus gave a mathematical description of all five and may have been responsible for the first known proof that there are no other convex regular polyhedra.

The Platonic solids feature prominently in the philosophy of Plato for whom they are named. Plato wrote about them in the dialogue Timaeus c.360 B.C. in which he associated each of the four classical elements (earth, air, water, and fire) with a regular solid. Earth was associated with the cube, air with the octahedron, water with the icosahedron, and fire with the tetrahedron. There was intuitive justification for these associations: the heat of fire feels sharp and stabbing (like little tetrahedra). Air is made of the octahedron; its minuscule components are so smooth that one can barely feel it. Water, the icosahedron, flows out of one's hand when picked up, as if it is made of tiny little balls. By contrast, a highly un-spherical solid, the hexahedron (cube) represents earth. These clumsy little solids cause dirt to crumble and break when picked up, in stark difference to the smooth flow of water. Moreover, the solidity of the Earth was believed to be due to the fact that the cube is the only regular solid that tesselates Euclidean space. The fifth Platonic solid, the dodecahedron, Plato obscurely remarks, "...the god used for arranging the constellations on the whole heaven". Aristotle added a fifth element, aithêr (aether in Latin, "ether" in English) and postulated that the heavens were made of this element, but he had no interest in matching it with Plato's fifth solid.[citation needed]

Euclid gave a complete mathematical description of the Platonic solids in the Elements, the last book (Book XIII) of which is devoted to their properties. Propositions 13–17 in Book XIII describe the construction of the tetrahedron, octahedron, cube, icosahedron, and dodecahedron in that order. For each solid Euclid finds the ratio of the diameter of the circumscribed sphere to the edge length. In Proposition 18 he argues that there are no further convex regular polyhedra. Andreas Speiser has advocated the view that the construction of the 5 regular solids is the chief goal of the deductive system canonized in the Elements.[2] Much of the information in Book XIII is probably derived from the work of Theaetetus.

In the 16th century, the German astronomer Johannes Kepler attempted to find a relation between the five extraterrestrial planets known at that time and the five Platonic solids. In Mysterium Cosmographicum, published in 1596, Kepler laid out a model of the solar system in which the five solids were set inside one another and separated by a series of inscribed and circumscribed spheres. Kepler proposed that the distance relationships between the six planets known at that time could be understood in terms of the five Platonic solids, enclosed within a sphere that represented the orbit of Saturn. The six spheres each corresponded to one of the planets (Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn). The solids were ordered with the innermost being the octahedron, followed by the icosahedron, dodecahedron, tetrahedron, and finally the cube. In this way the structure of the solar system and the distance relationships between the planets was dictated by the Platonic solids. In the end, Kepler's original idea had to be abandoned, but out of his research came his three laws of orbital dynamics, the first of which was that the orbits of planets are ellipses rather than circles, changing the course of physics and astronomy. He also discovered the Kepler solids.

In the 20th century, attempts to link Platonic solids to the physical world were expanded to the electron shell model in chemistry by Robert Moon in a theory known as the "Moon model".[3]

                          Who Was Robert J. Moon?

Robert James Moon (1911-1989): Arriving at the University of Chicago at the age of 16 in 1928, Moon expressed his intention to solve the problem of controlled thermonuclear fusion. Arthur Compton, then chair of the Physics Department, told him his department was not working on that problem, and sent him to the chairman of the Department of Physical Chemistry, William Draper Harkins.

Moon earned a Ph.D. degree in Physical Chemistry under Harkins, and then a doctorate in Physics. He taught in both departments at the University of Chicago, starting in the 1930s. During World War II, he played a key role in the Manhattan Project; he later conducted biophysical research in connection with Argonne National Laboratory.

In the 1930s, Moon built the second cyclotron in the world, with many improvements over the first device constructed by E.O. Lawrence. During the Manhattan Project, he solved the problem of the carbon moderator, making the first atomic pile possible. After the war, he constructed the first scanning X-ray microscope, and pioneered in optical biophysics studies on the action potential in nerves.

His study of the electrodynamic theories of André-Marie Ampère and Wilhelm Weber, led him to reconsider the usual interpretation of the Rutherford scattering data, which ignores the variation in force between charged particles as a result of relative velocities and accelerations. Calculations based on the Weber electrodynamics forced Moon to re-conceptualize most of what is, still today, taken for granted in atomic and nuclear physics.Who Was Robert J. Moon?

From 1974 onward, he was a key collaborator of Lyndon H. LaRouche, Jr. A founding member of the Fusion Energy Foundation, from 1984-1986 he edited its International Journal of Fusion Energy. He was a member of the advisory board of 21st Century Science & Technology, until his death in 1989.

As an outgrowth of seminars conducted with LaRouche and other scientific collaborators in the 1984-1986 period, Moon came up with his proposal for a geometric ordering of the atomic nucleus, inspired by Johannes Kepler’s conception of the solar system, as described in his work Mysterium Cosmographicum.

The structure for the quantization of space turned out to be an assemblage of four of the five Platonic solids nested within one another, the sum of whose vertices equal 46. Two such assemblages together form the 92 elements of the periodic table. Three of them placed together, with one position lost at the juncture, form the places for 137 electrons as they may be found in free space.

In 1821, André-Marie Ampère adopted the hypothesis, suggested by his friend and colleague Augustin Fresnel, that there existed within matter, tiny circular loops of electrical current, which, like the macroscopic ones he had studied, acted like magnets. If the current loop were thought of as the “equator” of an imaginary sphere, the north and south poles of the sphere would be the north and south poles of the magnet which the current loop produced. Ampère supposed that magnetization of a piece of iron consisted of alignment of these “magnetic molecules” in parallel columns, so as to magnify their effect.

Sir Muhammad Iqbal (Urdu: محمد اقبال) (November 9, 1877 – April 21, 1938), also known as Allama Iqbal (Urdu: علامہ اقبال), was a philosopher, poet and politician[1] in British India who is widely regarded as having inspired the Pakistan Movement. He is considered one of the most important figures in Urdu literature,[2] with literary work in both the Urdu and Persian languages.[1][2]

Iqbal is admired as a prominent classical poet by Pakistani, Indian and other international scholars of literature.[3][4] Though Iqbal is best known as an eminent poet, he is also a highly acclaimed "Muslim philosophical thinker of modern times".[1][4] His first poetry book, Asrar-e-Khudi, appeared in the Persian language in 1915, and other books of poetry include Rumuz-i-Bekhudi, Payam-i-Mashriq and Zabur-i-Ajam. Amongst these his best known Urdu works are Bang-i-Dara, Bal-i-Jibril, Zarb-i Kalim and a part of Armughan-e-Hijaz.[5] Along with his Urdu and Persian poetry, his various Urdu and English lectures and letters have been very influential in cultural, social, religious and political disputes over the years.[5] In 1922, he was knighted by King George V,[6][7] giving him the title "Sir".[8]
