Maybe its just me but im looking for the trick all the time and what i see here is the first drill that shows north on the shank end clearly has a reduced shank which actually looks like its been modified and the second one showing a north at the tip end also looks to be modified at the tip. Surely if this were as real as it looks the demo would simply show that the north pole existed at either end of the same drill. Also if the north pole was focused in the coil as explained then the south must be outside the coil if this was the case then surely should not the drill display a north pole at both ends at the same time ??

Good point! So, let me rephrase that, "Rodin claims to show you how to make a monopole magnet."

Rodin would be more convincing if he used something other than a drill bit.
