  • Renewal energies for a small building on the mountains

    Hi guys

I'd like to have some suggestions!
I have to plan a small building (15-20 square meters) on a mountain and It should be "off-grid".
There is the possibility to implement solar and photovoltaic panels.
What do you suggest for the heating-system, considering that the owners prefer to don't have any "fire"?
And for a small kitchen inside?

    [edit] Other informations:
The building will be located on a mountain in the north of Italy, at 2500 meters above sea level
The specific site has not ben chosen, so the building will have to be designed considering that it should be adaptable to different possible areas. I just know that it will be positioned on a rocky area.
The main material should be wood, but it possible to use also other materials in addition.
If it is possible it would be nice to consider the presence of a small toilet

    Help me!

(and sorry for my bad english!)

Almost sounds like a homework assignment? JK welcome to the forum! You should find some good help here. Where is the home(building? what type?) going to be located (north/south/middle of what state)? What direction does the mountain side face? Can it be built into the slope or on flat ground? Are there any material or 'code' restrictions, or can you build with whatever you want? This may help us know what design options are available to you.

The first thing I would suggest if the house is is a passive solar design. Basically, you let the sun heat the house for you. There are just a couple of tricks to it. I can share more when you respond with more information.
Trust your own instinct. Your mistakes might as well be your own, instead of someone else's ~BW~ It's kind of fun to do the impossible ~WD~ From now on, I'll connect the dots my own way ~BW~ If I shall be like him, who shall be like me? ~LR~ Had I not created my whole world, I would certainly have died in other people’s ~AN~

      wind turbine

A wind turbine would be another option plus solar water heating and wood gasifier for cooking.
