    Making the assumption that the goal of every real tesla coil builder is to separate voltage and current into separate ends of a coil, I have to wonder if there might be an easier, cleaner method. This a big assumption of course, I have not really followed closely what Eric is trying to accomplish. Just a vague idea.

    Avremenko, famous for the AV plug used a monopolar resonant system to transmit 100 watts of power by means of a single, small diameter "conductor".
    In classical transmission, a relatively thick conductor is inside a cable surrounded with an insulator. Avremenko used just the opposite with a thin conductive layer surrounding an insulator. He was able to transmit power long distances this way without loss.

    After he died, the group he was connected to switched to the Tesla methods and succeeded in single wire transmission of 20 kw of power.

    If you connect a high frequency, high voltage source to one pole of a capacitor and connect the other pole to Avremenko's single wire conductor; does induction create a purely electrostatic displacement wave?

    If you wanted to then transmit through the earth, could you not simply use the toroid as the "air" termination with a second end properly grounded.

    Is there a way to amplify such a wave? One way would be to have multiple capacitors in parallel with each output phase shifted so that they all combined properly. Can you think of another way?

    Just rambling thoughts on my mind this morning.
