  • Thane heins effect on my Rodin pulse motor

Hi all, when I hook up a cap to my Rodin pulse motor via a 2kg bifilar coil speed increases by nearly 20% amps drop by 30% and I charge a super cap pretty quickly.

    Enjoyed that Jim
I have no idea how you're triggering the system, but am glad you haven't got the rotor in your hand this time !

In my opinion, the simple thing about caps is that they're not simple at all, when they are within fast pulse systems...28K RPM being fast.
I'd 'think' that the cap would charge, but would have very little effect on the rotor spinning or the collection coil - yet the difference seen there was very very different to the expected sight.
As a theory, the cap is creating a linear path for the collected energy within the collection coil. Instead of induction effects bouncing around and creating a saturation, the cap is allowing a linear removal and better energy flow through the whole system.
When you put a neon there, there is still nowhere for the collected energy to be dumped to (removed) and so, even if the neon lights, it will bounce back because the neon is conducting through and muck up the running.
I could well be way out of course.

Great stuff, looking forward to the cap only run
