When this technology is proven we could count heads and decide what amount we could all afford to put into a pot each month.
Then vote on how the funds were to be used.
Anyone wishing to join the group would have to put in the same amount any individual had already put into the pot.
If there is a large amount of people the monthly figure will be small. As more people join the figure could decrease.
Any profits made could go back into the pot so it isn't profit.
Infact a trust may be the best way.
No one owns anything then.

Couple of questions about the motor/generator in the middle....
Considering that it is the most expensive single piece of the build, re future proofing for potential improvements in performance would buying one capable of generating a net 15kW run at these lower loads?
Are these off the shelf units... if so could someone link to one/two?

Electric Motor, Three Phase, 15Kw, 20HP,1400 rpm.(3Ph) | eBay
3 Phase Electric Motor 25HP (18.5kw), 1400rpm, 180M | eBay
Q. Hi, can the motor also be used as a generator?
I'm guessing it is an induction motor and therefore it can.
A. Paul, yes induction motor so can be adapted, i cant offer any advice as I dont have experience of doing it.

I'm trying to consider whether using a single phase motor for the input and a permanent magnet generator as the output would be far more efficient.
These are just my thoughts.
Negatives:
The frame would have to accomodate both.
More gearing.
Increased cost.
Positives:
Removes the three phase output problem.
Frequency inverter would not be needed.
Self looping would be simpler.Last edited by soundiceuk; 10-25-2012, 05:56 PM.

I think I'm now leaning toward separate input and output devices based on his last video and the positives and negatives you mention. Although I don't personally see the negatives as all that bad. Regarding the gearing, if it turns out that the 'kick' wheel isn't really necessary, then that alone will reduce the overall gearing or at least offset any additional required for two separate devices.
Any news on proto 12?

i wonder if this is of any use here
good luck at all

It looks like the 7 o'clock free wheel is going to work from what I have seen so far.

I will have to email them unless you have done so already.
Maybe there are other types like this on the market.

Fault Code: Er07
Fault name: Under voltage at operating
Possible cause: Abnormal input voltage
Solution: Examine supply voltage

Fault Code: Er02
Fault name: Over current at constant speed operation
Possible cause: Too small inverter power
Solution: Choose the inverter of large power
