This sounds as if he was producing power as that was not in dispute but the question is how? they mention a "dangerous transformer assembly" suspended from the ceiling, petrol, so what could it be?

looks like it was a combustion engine powered generator, hence petrol and hung on strings to reduce/eliminate vibrations.

Mind you, they're saying 'cans of petrol'...doesn't mean there was petrol in them. Could have been water or sulphuric acid or anything really.
It was very scant reporting for the BBC.
An actual FE generator would confuse all who saw it, but would result in the stop to it, for profit reasons.
I'd like to know how they found out about it. Presumably it was loud, if not a vibration nightmare.
Also, why he wasn't in court.
And, why anyone who considers the price of petrol in the UK would even imagine it to be cheaper to use it with a standard generator than plugging stuff into a wall outlet.
Perhaps he'd been cut off and had this simple idea to get some stuff running...the sort of details you'd think the BBC would report.
