history of antennas and the tesla wireless system (marconi/tesla, ham radios etc.)

i am looking for information about the history of antennas. when they started being used, how they developed over the years, any kind of breakthru's made over the years, etc. and how they might relate to the alternative research we do hear.

pictures would be nice too...needed in fact

i believe that we've missed something very important that was really in plain site in regards to the true potential of antennas.
